SUMMARY AND REACTION PAPER

The movie “The 3 Idiots” is an Indian movie about the life of three engineering students who
went to study at one of best Colleges school in India. Coming from different walks of life, the
three will become best friends. But the movie circle on how the wisdom and ideals of Rancho
will influence and change the life of his two friends and other characters of the story.

The story of the 3 idiots is one of the funniest movies I’ve watched, although there was a
tearful and dramatic part, it is a story of friendship and fulfillment of dreams and the movie is
about an ideal student who is supposed to be smarter than everyone else including his
professors, this is one of the best movies I have watched and I have gained a lot of lessons.
Best friends Rancho, Farhan, and Raju have gone through ups and downs about their
academics, Rancho the character who motivates his friends that however big the problem is,
tell your heart, “All is Well pal.” Valuable lessons can be learned from the characters in this
movie even from the antagonists. But Rancho has all the moral lessons and ideals that we can
imprint to ourselves. The part of the movie that really amazed me is that the moment wherein
they have to perform vacuum delivery. With the ability, creativity, leadership, and intelligence
that rancho equipped. He was able to save and deliver the baby safe.

As a student, choosing of career is very difficult. Our options may be limited to our courses that
our parents have decided. There are certain facts that the movie showed us, that only parents
are making decisions and forcing their children to study the courses that they don’t like.

The movie or film made me realize that “make your passion a profession.” We should not give
up on our hopes and dreams, we should always have a positive attitude and mind towards
everything and we will easily find solutions to our problems.
Overall, 3 idiots is truly a captivating movie. The story is remarkable and the lessons to be
learned are immense. I believe that the life stories of the characters in this movie is very
relatable peer-pressure, depression, and poverty and family expectations. But the movie is very
liberating- don’t be a prisoner of expectations and competitions. And I would like to bring
forward my favorite quotes and lessons from the movie, is that to take risk to challenge yourself
and take risk to do something. The worst thing that will ever happen is “failure” so switch it
over. And last is that Learning is everywhere: Learning isn’t just about being inside classroom
and listening to teachers but it is everywhere. You just need to grab and grow with it.
