ABSTRACT

Considering the fact that visual impairment has a big impact to students

learning. The researchers formulate some questions about the causes of visual

impairment.

This is a descriptive-analytic study which aims to give a solutions to the

problem encountered among the Information Technology (I.T) students in their

visual impairment through conducting a survey. The survey was conducted in

Leyte Normal University, having 50 questionnaires that has a 50 respondents also.

The study gathered with a result that the primary cause of visual impairment

among Information Technology (I.T) students was exposure to radiation which has

a 39%, in order to be avoided the said impairment, facing too long to the computers

or gadgets that has a radiation is prohibited, likewise, the impact of visual

impairment to learning of the student will be difficulty in reading of their lessons.

This study also come up with a recommendations that prohibit yourselves

from radiation, if possible wear eye glasses which can protect your eyes, don’t stay

long facing the gadgets, computers, television, and all things that has radiation

because when your eyes get damaged your performance in everyday life gets

affected, have an eye check-up in order to know if you have already Visual

Impairment because it is one of the good way so that you will be given a treatment

by the physician of the eyes, eat healthy foods especially those high in vitamins so

that your eyes are healthy and take care of your eyes because it is hard to have a

Visual Impairment as the survey says. Therefore, always put in mind the dos and

don’ts for your best.
