“C-0208/C-0206” sporadically occur and Tray 3/4 become unavailable.
[Cause]
1. The wire harness is so short that the connection between the main body and the
paper feed cabinet(PC-208) might be poor

J30-01 occurs when you print with PC-409.

There is a difference between the “updated value of paper position” and the “actual
paper travel distance”

actuator would be broken.
[Countermeasure]
The actuator is increased in strength with five times than the current design.

If replacing by one- piece actuator for MIF, there is a problem on the safety due
to having concerns about Separation Claw‘s spring probably dropping down.
For the broken actuator in MIF, please replace it with Separating Guide Assy
which is newly-made part (A1UDR72100) and includes the modified actuator.

[Outline]
We will p
provide yyou with the countermeasure to p prevent fuser actuator breakageg
occurring based on the following scenario.
 As long as the machine works within the specification, it stops immediately
just after the paper size error occurs (when you try to print from the bypass
tray). We call that "Controller Jam".
 In that situation, the paper would be caught between the fuser rolls so that
you have to remove itit.
 However, if you pull the paper too strong, the fuser actuator might be broken.

2-5. Paper JAM occurs at the tray 2
Dog-ear on the leading edge / paper JAM may occur at the paper take-up
section off the tray 2.

 To avoid JAM,

that of the guide on the vertical transport side (A1UD5724*) ,
 However, some are inversely placed due to the variation
in production. Consequently, the paper may get caught.
 This problem occurs only at the tray 2.

The lever (A1UD5611, paper feed section) can be hit by the paper cassette
very hard when you open/close the paper cassette, and the lever is not strong
enough (stress is concentrated at thin part of the lever), resulting in lever
breakage.

The right
g rear side of a cassette breaks when it is slid into the machine/cabinet
with great force.

 The damaged part is considered safety rate into its design, however if the
cassette is slid with greater than estimated force, it may result in breakage.
 In some cases, the pickup lever breaks. (TABT1100218EN*)

1. Reduce the force acting on the cassette and the pick-up lever.
-> Approx. 30% force has been reduced by changing the contact angle of
the pick-up lever.

G3 FAX from a specific FAX machine (such as CanoniRC3380F)

 This issue is caused by modem incompatibility.
 There is a problem with the modem when the system goes into Receive Phase-
D, and Silicon DAA (which controls connection) is directly-connected

 Problem of the firmware of the controller.
 You have to set a default document name when you select an abbreviated
address other than FAX. However, a default document name is set even when
only FAX is available. As a result, this problem occurs because the system is
designed to always select E-mail setting when a document name is set.

6-4. Remaining toner amount is not displayed correctly
Remaining toner amount displayed on PSWC etc. is different between at sleep and
after printing.

The information of remaining toner amount is obtained from the backup memory
when the Power is ON / the machine gets back from sleep, but the information of
toner consumption rate is updated at the start of printing. Therefore, the
consumption rate is 0% (toner full) right after the machine boots up.

6-5. Size detection failure of the bypass tray

[Symptom]
After placing 114 mm envelope(s) on the bypass tray then input the size from the
control panel, the size shown on the screen will alternately be A6SEF and B6SEF
then reinputting the custom size becomes impossible.
[Cause ]
 Problem of the engine FW.

7-1. Noise from receiver when telephone is off-hook

[Symptom]
You hear noise from the receiver (the telephone is off-hook)

[Cause]
The cutoff frequency of 3.9kHz makes it difficult to listen to programs.
[Countermeasure]
Change the cutoff frequency of the low-pass filter circuit on the FAX board from
3.9kHz to 3kHz.(Change the FK-508 board)

Problem of the hardware.
Power saving mode for HDD itself has 2 modes, which are Sleep and Standby, the
cause of the problem is related to this power saving function.
Before this modification,
modification Sleep mode was ON for HDD HDD. And the problem occurred
because HDD became Busy when recovering from Sleep mode.
【Countermeasure】
The power saving mode is changed from Sleep to Standby.

[Background]
We modified the image processing method to provide less variability in image
density control (caused by machine condition or environment etc.), resulting in
better toner mileage.
[Implementation Method]
1. Update the FW to Ver. Gxx-C2 or later of Special FW/Mass-production
program.
2. Set Engine DIP SW as below (only for bizhub283/223)*
7: OFF 8: ON
[Setting method]
Enter "Security settings” by [STOP -> 0 -> C] at “Service Mode” when
setting Dip SW.
* This must be done when setup a machine even though it originally
has "Gxx-C2 " FW.

Print job (print / FAX) won’t

freezes at the KM logo / blank screen (can be recovered by power OFF / ON).
[Cause]
 Problem of the firmware.
 Loop process is performed when a trap is requested and it normally finishes
after15 times but was finished after 16 times,, the value was written beyond

allocated sequence region caused stack smash, resulting in the panel freeze.

8-5. NV-RAM connector breakage
When attempting to start the MFP the following symptoms occurs and start-up fails.
 Freezes at the KM logo / the hour glass
 After the hour glass, displays C-C211 / C-D390

NV-RAM connection failure (The connector part of the MFP board gets damaged
when installing / removing the NV-RAM. See the photo below.)

Reinforcing the connector part of the MFP board. (P/N is not changed.)
Note: In addition to the above countermeasure, please install / remove
the NV

 Problem of the FW (LAN driver)
 The network card cannot receive multicast packets once the LAN cable is
disconnected because the multicast table is cleared when disconnected and
will not be re-created even when re-connected.
 As authentication protocols in IEEE802.1x (EAPOL/EAP) are sent via
multicast addresses, if the network card doesn’t
doesn t response to multicast packets,
the authentication will fail and the re-connection to the LAN will also fail.
[Countermeasure]
Modified the FW (LAN driver) to recreate the multicast table for reconnection.
