The benefits of physical activity can be put into three categories: physical,
mental and social. Complete the table below by identifying one social, one mental
and one physical benefit of physical activity for a student and for someone at work.

ourselves. Maintaining good health is vital for everyone, but it
is especially critical as we age. The best approach to keep well
- both physically and psychologically - is to understand how to
take care of yourself. That’s why we need to engage in physical
activity because it helps us to avoid risk fall.
6. Socio- 6. Socio-economic factors – When you came from a well-off
economic family you were aware of how important your health is, but
factors when you came to low-lying areas, health is not important
anymore. The bottom line here is that whatever our economic
status is, we need to take care of our health. We need to join or
engage in physical activity for us to be in a good shape.

Physical activity encompasses all forms of movement such as walking, cycling, wheeling, sports,
active recreation, and many more. Physical activity can be done in three ways; light, moderate and
vigorous. Light intensity activities require the least amount of effort, compared to moderate and
vigorous activities. Doing moderate activities requires more oxygen consumption while vigorous
activity requires the highest amount of oxygen consumption to complete the activity. On the other hand,
Physical education is a course that emphasizes the development of physical fitness and the capacity to
perform and enjoy everyday physical activities. For example, in elementary and middle school, exercises
such as sprinting, catching, throwing, and hitting are included in the curriculum. To sum up, both are
important for obesity prevention and other disease problem. By giving time to these two concepts, you
will be able to avoid many diseases.
