H.I.R.E. PROGRAM

Introduction: HIRE program is developed for those interested to under-go OJT program in any Crown
Regency Hotel & Resorts property under the Crown Regency Institute of Tourism and Hospitality.
H.I.R.E. stands for Hospitality Industry Related Experience. The main purpose of the HIRE program is
to bridge the gap and/or align the learning of the would-be graduates of the tourism and hospitality
industry through specialized industry exposure. With H.I.R.E. programs students have greater chances of
getting HIRED!

Purpose of the Program:


The main purpose of the H.I.R.E. Program is to expose the students in rigors of the hotel operations and
be able to accomplish practical and observable purpose in which the organization or establishment is
interested. Thus, transfer of knowledge is achieved both from the point of view of the students and the
management of the establishment. The experience gained during the training will also strengthen the
professional skills of the student which is necessary to enter the service-oriented workforce in the future,
including professional oral and written communication skills, self-accountability, time management and
teamwork, business ethics, and professional etiquette.

A. Before beginning the practicum course, the student should complete the following:
a. Submit the following documents to CRITH Office:

are complete.

b. Pay the necessary OJT fee at the Accounting Office of Club Ultima or you may deposit your payment
at Metrobank, Cebu Plaridel Branch Account Number 006-3006-6570-96, account name is Crown
Regency Institute of Tourism and Hospitality. Just send us thru fax or email the copy of the deposit
slip.

PRE-DEPLOYMENT ORIENTATION SEMINAR:
Conducted for three (3) days as introduction and information dissemination prior to the actual
H.I.R.E. Program, this is important prior to deployment in the Hotel Operations. The following

o S.E.A.T. (Student Evaluation and Assessment Test)

MEMORANDUM OF AGREEMENT

KNOW ALL MEN BY THESE PRESENTS:

This Memorandum of Agreement made and entered by and between:


____________________________________ an institution duly organized and existing under Philippine
Laws with office/business address at ____________________________, represented herein by
Ms./Mr._____________________________________, hereinafter referred to as the UNIVERSITY.
and CROWN REGENCY INSTITUTE OF TOURISM AND HOSPITALITY an educational
institution handling OJT Training for J. King and Sons Co., Inc, duly organized and existing under
Philippine Laws with office/business address at Fuente Tower 1, Osmena Blvd., Cebu City represented
herein by Dr. MONTAGUE A.F.L. MELGAR, Institute Director, hereinafter referred to as the
COMPANY.

Witnesseth:

The parties hereby bind themselves to undertake a Memorandum of Agreement for the purpose of
supporting the UNIVERSITYS’ on-the-job training for student-trainees under the following terms and
conditions:

1. The UNIVERSITY shall be responsible for briefing the on-the-job student-trainees who intend to
conduct practicum exposure in the COMPANY as part of the UNIVERSITY’S curriculum;

2. The UNIVERSITY shall provide the on-the-job student-trainee the basic orientation on work
values,
behavior, and discipline to ensure smooth cooperation with the COMPANY;

3. The UNIVERSITY shall issue an official endorsement vouching for the well being of the on-the-job
student-trainee which shall be used by the COMPANY for processing the application of the student-
trainee;

4. The UNIVERSITY shall voluntarily withdraw a student-trainee who is found to misbehave and/or
act in defiance to existing standards, rules, and regulations of the COMPANY and impose necessary
university sanctions to the said student-trainee;

5. The COMPANY will not grant allowance and/or adequate insurance to student-trainee.

6.      The COMPANY, upon consultation with the UNIVERSITY, may require qualified students to
submit themselves to examinations, interviews, and file pertinent documents to support their
application;

7.      The COMPANY is not obliged to employ student-trainee upon completion of the training;

8.      The student-trainee shall be personally responsible for any and all liabilities arising from negligence

in the performance of his/her duties and functions while under training;

9.      There is no employer-employee relationship between the COMPANY and the student-trainee;

10. The duration of the program shall be equivalent to ______ working hours unless otherwise agreed
upon by the COMPANY and the UNIVERSITY;

11. Any violation of the foregoing covenants will warrant the cancellation of the Memorandum of
Agreement by the COMPANY within thirty (30) days upon notice to the UNIVERSITY.

12. This Memorandum of Agreement shall become effective upon signature of both parties and
implementation will begin immediately and shall continue to be valid hereafter until written notice is
given by either party thirty (30) days prior to the date of intended termination.

H.I.R.E. PROGRAM / O.J.T. TRAINING AGREEMENT

The CROWN REGENCY INSTITUTE OF TOURISM AND HOSPITALITY as representing group of the CROWN
REGENCY HOTELS AND RESORTS with the office address at FUENTE OSMEÑA, CEBU CITY agrees to
permit Ms. / Mr. _____________________________________ a student of
________________________________________ who voluntarily applied for on-the-job-training in this
establishment under the H.I.R.E. PROGRAM / O.J.T. Training program for the purpose if gaining experience,
knowledge and skills in various areas of the hospitality operations. In addition, CRITH and the student both agreed
to the following guidelines:

 The STUDENT certifies that he/she is a student of _______________________________, as part of the


requirement in the degree ______________________________ he / she is endorsed by the college /
university / training center to undergo for a ___________________ hours of training in the hospitality
operations with a minimum of 40 hours per week required for the work experience.

 The training period begins on ____________and ends up in _____________, 20__. It will run for not less
than _______ working hours, and as such will not be allowed to receive any certification of the training
should the required number of hours is not completed.

 The student, while in the process of training will have the status of student – trainee neither displacing a
regular worker now employed nor substituting for a worker needed by CRHR.

 The student agrees to perform diligently the work experience assigned to him/her. The student also agrees
to pursue faithfully the prescribed schedule with appropriate intervals per areas.

 The student has the right to ask for a change of training station. His request for transfer shall be evaluated
by the CRITH Office and shall be granted if properly justified.

 The student will be personally responsible for any and all liabilities for damage to property or injury to
third person which may be caused by his/her intention or negligent acts while in the course of training.

 The student agrees that the H.I.R.E. program fees is non-refundable once the Pre-Deployment Seminar
have already been attended to, or should the student withdraw from the program due to transfer to another
venue or be hired in other property.

 The Student trainee, the endorsing school and parents concerned renounce and waive any claim against the
CRITH and CRHR for an injury that the trainee may sustain or loss that they suffer personal or pecuniary
in performance of their duties and functions.

 The student trainee and the School OJT Program Coordinator shall abide by the CRITH and CRHR rule
and regulations and comply with those imposed for the program; otherwise they shall be excluded from
further participation.

 CRITH Officers shall make appropriate consultation and coordination to the cooperating college /
university / training center during the training periods of the student to update regarding the students’
progress and to discuss training problems.

 CRITH officers shall have the authority to transfer or withdraw the student trainee anytime after proper
evaluation and consultation with school representative.

 The CRITH and CRHR will not grant allowance and/or adequate insurance to student-trainee, will not
provide uniform for training, and is not required to provide any duty meals during the training.

 The COMPANY is not obliged to employ student-trainee upon completion of the training;
