PASSIVE VOICE

 What is passive voice?

Passive Voice adalah kalimat pasif.

Kalimat yang menukarkan posisi objek dengan
subjek.
Artinya siapapun atau apapun yang menjadi
aktor/pelaku dalam kalimat tersebut tidak
menjadi subjek kalimat.
 the point is:
Passive voice biasanya digunakan
untuk menekankan kejadian bukan
pada pelaku dari tindakan.

Dalam Bahasa Indonesia, kalimat pasif

dibentuk dengan menambahkan
awalan di- atau ter- pada kata kerja-1
 example
The road was crossed by the chicken

S tobe v3 o

Pelaku dalam kalimat diatas adalah the

chicken. Namun "the chicken" berada pada

posisi "object".

The Pattern of Passive Voice

To Be + Past Participle (V3)

 Simple Present Tense Simple Past Tense

S t is/am/are + V3 S t was/were + V3
The school is cleaned by Joko The school was cleaned by Joko
everyday. yesterday.
Present ContinuousTense Past Continuous Tense

S t is/am/are + being + V3 S t was/were + being + V3

The school is being cleaned by The school was being cleaned by
Joko at the moment. Joko last week.
Simple Future Tense Past Future Tense

S t will be + V3 S t would/should + be + V3
The school will be cleaned by The school should be cleaned by
Joko tomorrow. Joko yesterday.
