2 Rizal and the Theory of Nationalism

approval or show to the government to demonstrate our love for our country.

The pre-colonial Philippines was a nation or otherwise, I can say during that time which
indigenous peoples engaged in healthy trade with various cultures and economies in the
region. This gave way to a long colonial period that was before Spanish, American, Japanese
period. The Filipino already has advanced civilization in pre-colonial era the already possessed
a very advanced civilization way before the coming of the Spanish. And the literacy was high
that the pre-colonial Filipinos educated themselves very well, so much so that when the
Spanish finally arrived, they were shocked to find out that the Filipinos possessed a literacy
