Good afternoon/morning I would like present my article with The title THE EFFECT OF RASPBERRY PI-
BASED AUDIO MEDIA EDUCATION ON COVID-19 KNOWLEDGE AND AWARENESS AMONG KEPUHARJO
VILLAGE RESIDENTS IN KARANGPLOSO DISTRICT, MALANG REGENCY

Slide 2

As Background

The increase in the number of COVID-19 cases is classified as very rapid as it spreads to various countries
in a short period. In East Java, 103,286 positive cases and 7,195 deaths were recorded on January 21,
2021. Raspberry pi based audio media education was expected to help with COVID-19 prevention by
providing frequent appropriate information regarding both transmission and health protocols to
increase knowledge & alertness.

This study aimed to determine the effect of raspberry pi-based audio media education on COVID-19
knowledge and awareness among Kepuharjo Village residents in Karangploso District, Malang Regency.

Slide 3

A quasi-experimental pre-post test method was used in this study. A total of 60 respondents involved in
this study with 30 people in each group, that was control and intervention group. The control group
treatment received education from a leaflet while The intervention group received education through
raspberry pi-based audio media four times/day for a month. Knowledge questionnaire had a score range
of 0-18, while the awareness instrument had a score range of 10-30.

Result

The characteristics of respondents in the two groups can be seen in table 1. The results showed that
based on gender, females were the highest in proportion, meanwhile, based on age, the respondents
were majorly 32-46 years old, most of them was graduated from elementary school level and mostly
they worked as housewives.

Table 2 showed the result in intervention group, the average knowledge pretest score was 12.67, while
the posttest score was 17.60. Meanwhile, the average awareness pretest score of 24.57 was lower than
the posttest score of 26.63,

Table 3 showed the result in control group, the average knowledge pretest score was 9.80, lower than
the posttest score of 12.13. In addition, the average alertness pretest score was 23.03, while the
posttest score was 25.77.

Slide 6

Table 4 and 5 showed a significant difference between pre test and post test in knowledge and
awareness score in either control and intervention group
Slide 7

Table 6 showed a significant difference in COVID-19 knowledge between control and intervention group
after a month of intervention, while table 7 showed an insignificant difference in COVID-19 awareness
between control and intervention group after a month of intervention.

Slide 8

Health education through raspberry pi-based audio media in the intervention group improved
knowledge and awareness regarding COVID 19. Most of the respondents during the posttest knew more
about the aetiology, signs & symptoms, risk groups, transmission, and prevention of COVID-19. It was
assumed that carrying out education consistently with accurate sources of information that
disseminated in the community. Furthermore, improvement in the awareness to COVID 19 was
observed during study in either control and intervention group. Previous study suggested that repeated
education through raspberry pi-based audio media had a significant impact in preventing the
transmission of COVID 19

Slide 9

This study suggested that application of education through raspberry pi-based audio media affects
COVID-19 knowledge but not in COVID 19 awareness.
