My Home is My School

Since March 2020, schools and campuses have been closed by the government due to
the virus pandemic that has hit the world, namely the corona virus or commonly known as
COVID-19. COVID-19 is a disease caused by infection with the SARS-CoV-2 virus, first
identified in the city of Wuhan, Hubei province, China in December 2019. Covid-19 has spread
to various countries in the world, including Indonesia. All schools and colleges are closed due to
this virus. All students are studying at home since the pandemic and my lecturer told me to stay
at home and take care of my health.

Since the pandemic, students have learned to use online media such as google meet,
zoom, e-learning, and others. There are many obstacles experienced by students and lecturers,
such as signal problems, limited internet quota, and inadequate mobile devices. The assignments
are given by the lecturers to be productive even if they only study online. Although many
students complain because online learning is very difficult to understand and the assignments
given by the lecturers are too many in my opinion.

But in another side, online learning requires us to understand technology. In the current
era of the industrial revolution 4.0, technological progress is increasing rapidly. then on the other
hand there are advantages and disadvantages of online learning. However, even though online
learning is very useful for the development of technology, I think face-to-face learning is still
better because we can consult directly with lecturers without any limitations such as signals,
cellphone devices, and other problems.

The experience I got from learning online was that it was very difficult to understand
the material and sometimes I didn't understand it at all, and sometimes there was a signal
problem that interfered with learning. In addition, online learning requires quite a lot of internet
quota, and internet quota is very expensive. The lecturer once told me to rent wifi at home to be
more cost-effective, but my parents didn't have the money to install wifi at my house.

I hope that face-to-face learning is carried out as soon as possible, because online
learning is not very effective for students. Expensive costs are also an obstacle for students,
especially students whose parents are middle to lower economic class.
