LINED ZIPPER BAG TUTORIAL

General Directions For All Of Our Zipper Bags

​Step One​: Run placement for the body of the bag and the zipper. You will use this to determine
how much fabric/vinyl to cut.

Step Two​: This will run your zipper tack down

 Step Three​: Take TOP EXTERIOR FABRIC PANEL and face it upside down, lining it up with
the top of the zipper tape (if using a directional print make sure it is facing upside down), secure
in place with tape and run single stitch tack down. Fold over so you are now seeing the right
side of the fabric, finger press and tape into place

Step Four​:Take BOTTOM EXTERIOR FABRIC PANEL and face it upside down, lining it up with
the bottom of the zipper tape (if using a directional print make sure it is facing upside down),
secure in place with tape and run single stitch tack down. Fold over so you are now seeing the
right side of the fabric, press gently with iron and tape into place
 Step Five and Six​: Tack down of top and bottom exterior panels

Step Seven​: This is where you will run any designs/applique before completing the assembly of
the bag
While your design is running, if you haven’t done so already, prep your lining panels. You will
have 3 pieces total: Your back panel, front top panel and front bottom panel.

The front top and bottom panels will need to be folded over approximately half an inch and
pressed, wrong side facing each other
Step Eight and Nine:​ Now we begin adding the lining, starting with the top interior panel. You
will flip your hoop upside down, place it right side facing up and folded side butting up to the
center zipper placement line, secure well with tape. Run top tack down

REPEAT STEPS WITH BOTTOM INTERIOR PANEL

Step Ten​: Move zipper pull to the center of the bag and place back exterior panel on top, right
side facing down, run tack down stitch
DO NOT FORGET TO MOVE YOUR ZIPPER TO THE CENTER OF THE BAG

Step Eleven​: Flip hoop upside down and place back lining piece down, right side facing away
from you, secure well with tape, and run the final tack down step
Step Twelve​: Remove project from hoop and trim around the bag leaving approximately half an
inch extra at the bottom opening, turn through opening then fold and press the fabric to close
and hide raw edges. Use clips to keep from shifting and sew the opening closed making sure to
backstitch at beginning and end

Step Thirteen​: Turn bag right side out through zipper, press well with iron
DO NOT PRESS VINYL IT WILL MELT

Your bag is now complete!
