Quarter 2 Week 3
Date October 25 - 29, 2021 Teacher Julie Jade O. Racoma

Good day Thinkers! It’s a beautiful day, don’t let it get away! Another week of learning opportunity waits
for us. Let’s maximize this week by being productive and enthusiastic. We are now on our third week of the
second quarter. We will be discussing Intersubjectivity. In this chapter, we will explore and understand Gabriel
Marcel’s Philosophy of Communion. Let’s see why he coined this world as a broken world and how this leads us
in realizing the danger of the human person losing our identity. According to Maya Angelou, “we may encounter
many defeats but we must not be defeated.” Let’s begin now!

• Chapter 6: Intersubjectivity - A Broken World, Urgent Need for Transcendence, I am My

This week, you will:

themselves.

V. Learning Tasks

Week 1 (October 25 - 29, 2021)

Day 1 (Monday, October 25)

This week, we will explore and understand Gabriel Marcel’s Philosophy of Communion. I know you have
questions around your minds at the moment. Thus, we will try to answer all that one by one as we go along
with our lesson. I hope you are all ready and prepared.
• Short Essay
✓ Ponder on Marcel’s statement below and write your reaction/explanation on it in your
used/recycled notebook for your reference.
Broken World: ‘the world has advanced so much that the human person gradually becomes
objectified in almost all areas of his life. The human person has been boxed up by definitions,
roles, and functions in a highly technical world that there is no more room for the mystery of
being’.
✓ Submit your work in the LMS.
✓ Prepare your notes for sharing tomorrow during our online class.
• Please read in advance: A Broken World p.69 – 72. I Am My Body p. 74 – 76.

Day 2 (Tuesday, October 26)

Good day everyone! I hope that everyone feels motivated to listen to our discussion today. Today, we will be
tackling Marcel’s idea of the Broken World, its meaning, and its significance to the human person. Let us all be
ready with our materials.
• Recapitulation by the student
• Online Discussion
✓ Get ready with your ideas and answers about the task given to you previously. Prepare for
an online class today. Kindly prepare your notebook and pen for your note-taking.
• 3-2-1 Activity

Day 3 (Wednesday, October 27)

I’m proud of the way you worked with our activities lately. You expressed yourself so well, and that is
good. In connection with the previous topics, in today’s activity, we will evaluate and recall experiences we have
towards other beings. Being that we are entities thrown into the world, we are as well given a horizon of
possibilities to attain one's essence as an individual in participation with the generalized others
• Warning Sign
✓ Gabriel Marcel taught us about his idea of a broken world which all of us can relate to.
Accordingly, a broken world differs based on a person’s experience of it. This time, it's your
time to share with us your idea of what is a broken world. How will you illustrate your broken
world without using the idea presented in our discussion. Express it in a form of warning
signage. Take note that this signage can be seen everywhere. Let it be that your signage
shows clarity and a relevant message to your audience of what is a broken world and its
implication to every man. Imply in your signage a warning of the possible long-term effect of
this broken world on man. Let your signage be a sign that people must take the urgent need
for transcendence to mend such a broken world. Kindly write a short explanation to it after.
Refer to the rubrics in doing this task.

that is great! I hope that you will continue that kind of attitude. Your perseverance will help you succeed. I hope

notion of the human entity. Please be ready and see you later.

In observance of All Soul’s Day and All Saints Day, let us not forget to offer prayers to those people
who have passed away especially to our loved ones. Let us ask the intercession of the Holy Spirit and all of the
Saints in heaven to be with us as in spirit

Day 5 (Wednesday, November 3)

I hope that you have grasped and appreciated the concept of intersubjectivity. You have also learned the
ideas that made it up, that the concept of intersubjectivity is what Marcel is known to be the Philosophy of
Communion. In this light, you have learned that the partaking of communion has similar contention of receiving
the five gifts of a person. I hope we make use of these gifts for good and of purpose.
• Motivational Speech + Video Recording
✓ Today, you are to create a motivational speech. You will use that speech as your piece in your
video recording. You are to come up with something like the video clip from yesterday’s activity.
✓ The speech should motivate the reader that persons with disabilities and those from the
underprivileged sectors of society have essential contributions to the community. Kindly ponder
and be guided with the questions below. Again, these questions are just a guide in making your
speech. You need not answer it one by one. Instead, make use of these questions in coming up
with a motivational piece.
✓ Guide questions:
1. What can we learn from disabled people?
2. How do people with disabilities should be treated?
3. Why are individuals with disabilities an asset to society?
4. Do we need to stop treating people with disabilities as less than human?
5. Do you believe that people who are disabled and underprivileged are still able to
contribute to society?
✓ Once done, send your work through this email juliejaderacoma@gmail.com
✓ Please be guided with the attached rubrics.
✓ The deadline for submission is Monday, November 8, 2020.
