The nurse introduces themselves to the patient and asks why they are in the hospital. The patient explains that their blood sugar was very high and they lost consciousness because they have not been taking care of themselves by eating properly or taking their medication. The nurse acknowledges this and explains that the doctor may recommend insulin injections at home to help control blood sugar levels. The nurse then demonstrates how to properly administer an insulin injection and has the patient demonstrate back to ensure they understand the process. The nurse reassures the patient that it's okay if they have any other questions.
