Activity Title :Techniques in Separating Mixtures
Learning Target : Enumerate the process and materials involved in evaporation

Evaporation is one way of separating mixture solutions and involves letting one solvent evaporates by
boiling to leave the solute behind. The solvent can be collected again by making it condense in another
container.
Let’s do this Activity : CRYSTAL EVIDENCE
Study the jumbled process of evaporation .Arrange the process in order by filling in the flow chart below.
A.
Stir thoroughly the glass with water and salt to form a salt solution.

B.
Let the set up cool for about 15 minutes.

C.
Get a cupful of salt and place it in the baker.

D.
Heat the beaker with the salt solution. Let it boil until the water has
evaporated leaving a solid residue.

E.
Half-fill a beaker with water and pour it into the beaker with salt.
