6 EXAMINATION
Course Description
This course introduces the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology to the
students, giving them overview on its organization focusing on its structure,
mission, vision, duties and responsibilities.
Course Intended Learning Outcomes (CILO): At the end of the course, the
students will be able to:
1. Understand mandates of the BJMP and its difference from other institutions
catering Persons Deprived of Liberty.
2. Differentiate the BJMP from PNP and BFP in terms of duties and
responsibilities.
3. Identify proactive measures in securing the jail facility and safekeeping the
PDL prohibiting them to escape.
4. Know the different developmental programs of the BJMP to prepare the PDL
in reintegration with the community.
