NARSEE MONJEE COLLEGE
Narsee Monjee College of Commerce and Economics is one
of the most reputed colleges of Mumbai. Within fifty years of
its establishment it is among the nation's peak educational
institutes. Ranked first in Maharashtra and seventh in India in
the field of commerce, the college is honoured to have alumni
like Nita Ambani, Paresh Rawal and Aamir Khan among
others. Narsee Monjee College of Commerce and Economics
is a second home to students with diverse talents that range
from sports and writing to performing arts and management.
ABOUT UMANG
Umang is the annual inter-collegiate cultural festival of
Narsee Monjee College of Commerce and Economics. The
festival is in its twenty second year, ready to cater to a crowd
of over 50,000 people yet again and soar to new heights like
never before. Umang is honoured to have been tagged as
'Asia's Fastest Growing Festival'. Living upto its motto, 'Reach
for moo-re...' Umang is ready to enthrall one and all once
again by reaching new heights with the help and combined
efforts of an organising team of over 500 people.

ABOUT THEME
The prophecy of the unknown has had no bearing on the
legacy that remains, one that began with the founding bricks
laid all the way through to embracing the digital paradigm
over the course of a little over two decades, Umang has stood
tall and so it shall, for its becoming has been a beautiful
journey, that must be told.
As an ode to the reigning heritage, we stand to have inherited
and the legacy that has transformed the lives of many, forged
new directions for several, and found a home in the hearts of
all those who've been a part, through the grandeur of the year
2021, we pay tribute to all that by celebrating the venturesome
journey that has unfolded before us.

We bring to you the official Umang merchandise to take back as
souvenirs for attending Asia's Fastest Growing Festival. We offer
merchandise like pens, T-shirts, bands, mugs and diaries among
other interesting things. Take home one of these and reminisce
the time you spent at Umang.
CAMPUS AMBASSADOR
Since the contest for the participants was too passé and
dynamic being our middle name, team Umang came up with
the campus ambassador programme for the CL, ACL or any
other member of the cultural society. A few interesting tasks
will be put forth each week and the aim is to complete them
creatively and diligently. The winner will be awarded with the
prestigious campus ambassador trophy. Are you ready to

a youth magazine that creates an indelible impact on the
readers by engaging them with insightful thoughts. This
magazine is by the students, for the students, and of the
students. It intends to live by its name, "Sans Frontières", and

The Umang Uncut blog contains an assortment of intriguing
articles that cater to the spirit of college students. It aims at
keeping readers engaged by bringing in creative content
from different realms of life. The blog also gives you an insight
into Umang 2021.

We care and hence be it just a drop in the ocean, we try our
best to bring about a change, one cause at a time! Every
year we humbly take this opportunity to do our bit and give
back to the society that made us who we are today! With

management events. Management Maestro is a hardcore
event which is a search for the ‘Complete Manager’. It tests
the managerial flair of the participants through a series of
rounds based on critical thinking and business knowledge. If
you have what it takes to be the complete manager, then this
event is for you.

The Participants must be in formal attire only. Not following

arithmetic equations and sums which they must solve to
derive hints and guess the locations of the attack.

The list of genres provided has to be strictly followed.
The original genre of the song along with the converted

If you can balance Western and Classical music and
captivate the audience, give it your best shot to have an
unforgettable music crochet!

Both the participants have to sing.
At least two songs from each language have to be
included.

Performances will not be live for any of the rounds.
Each song will have to be performed for at least 45

new musical realm. Show your beat and technical talents at
this major event. Get ready to battle and get the title
'ULTIMATE DJ'

For the finals, the participants can make use of both Hindi
and English tracks but they must cover atleast 3 different
music genres.
The video recording should include the entire setup as well
as the face of the participant clearly.
Obscenity and Vulgarity is prohibited.
The different genres and themes used within the track
need to be mentioned while submitting the final video.

Why limit yourself to just one when you can have several?
Combine two distinct dance forms on two different tunes to
create a routine that we can't seem to take our eyes away
from.

Both Bollywood and Western track, mashups, medleys and
remixes can be used.
No obscenity, vulgarity or abusive gesture will be allowed
and may lead to the disqualification of the participants.
The videos need to be submitted before the Pre-Elims; the
same video will be played in front of the judges in the final
round.
The duration of the video should strictly be within the
performance time.

GENERAL RULES &
REGULATIONS
Participants accept that the decision of the Organizing
Committee or judges for any of the competitions is final
and binding.
The Organizing Committee has the authority to create,
change, modify or update any round or rule for before,
during, or after the event.
The Organizing Committee reserves the right at any
time, to verify the validity of the entries.
All videos must be shot horizontally; vertical videos will
not be accepted.
File size should not exceed 300MB.
The video should be in MP4 format.
Place your device such that the camera is at eye level.
Frame yourself such that your facial expressions are
clear and your body movements are captured fully.
Ensure that your head, hands, and torso are not cut by
the frame.
Participants must look at their device camera while
performing and make sure that they are framed
correctly, preferably centered in the frame.
While performing the participant’s face must be seen.
Use a tripod/ stable surface if shooting with a phone/
DSLR. Avoid handheld shoots.
Choose a silent area to shoot in. Try switching off the
fans or other noisy appliances while shooting.

REGULATIONS
Ensure that the words are well enunciated and speak with
enough pauses in between.
Entries for pre-elimination rounds must be submitted
strictly on the given date and time, if not they shall be
considered invalid and the respective participant shall be
subjected to disqualification.
All finalists must be present 30 minutes before the start of
the event.
Participants must have their cameras ON throughout the
event.
The Organizing Committee is not responsible for any
technical issues on the participants’ end, if found then the
organizers' decision shall be final and binding.
All entries must be submitted via drive links only.
All participants must strictly adhere to the time limits of
the respective events.
The Organizing Committee may or may not choose
external judges for the pre-elimination round.
All content submissions –audio-visual, imagery or text
shall be in good taste and shall not be obscene, vulgar,
libellous, defamatory, immoral, insensitive, insulting,
annoying, hurt any religious sentiments or infringe the
rights of any third party, etc. and/or expose the
College/Umang to any civil and/or criminal proceedings.

statements nor refer to any commercial product and/or
service disparagingly while being recorded in any
clips/footages/images for Umang.
Participants should avoid reference to any commercial
product and/or service unless required for creative
purposes while being recorded in any clips/ footages/

If any of the above rules are not adhered to, the
Organizing Committee holds the right to disqualify the
participants at any given point in time.

REGISTRATION
RULES
The details of the registration process will be conveyed to

the CL's by Team Hospitality.
All the personal details shared by the participants shall be
true to the best of their knowledge and belief. If proved to
be otherwise, the respective participant shall be subjected
to disqualification.
A registered participant is to join the meeting link for the
respective event in the following format: College Code-
Full Name of Participant (E.g. CC22- Pranshu Mehta)
NOTE: Slots will be allotted strictly on a first come first serve

basis of the online registrations.

COSTUME
RULES
Tube tops, low backs, low necks, bralettes, sports bras, and
tops above the navel beyond a considerable length will
not be permitted.
Boy shorts, daisy dukes, dolphin shorts, micro/miniskirts,
leotards, and bottoms above the knee will not be
permitted.
Participants are not allowed to perform bare-chested.
Above mentioned items will not be allowed even if
mesh/nude bodysuits and hosiery/tights are worn.
All costumes are subject to scrutiny and the judge’s
discretion will be final.
