A speech style, according to Martin Joos (1976), a linguist and German


professor, it refers to the form of language that the speaker utilized which is
characterized by the level of formality.
Still according to Jooz, speech style is identified into five types: frozen,
formal, consultative, casual, and intimate. Here are the five different types of
speech. .style.

 The Language to be used in any kind of communication plays a vital role. It always signifies the level
of formality of communication. Thus, it is essential to take note of appropriate word/s or vocabulary before
speaking. Speaker should consider the context of communication because it dictates and helps the speaker to
distinguish what kind of style is appropriate for that particular communication process. These styles are
important in speech-making because it will help you choose the appropriate approach for specific events.
Picking the correct speech prevents misunderstanding and conflicts.
