FUNDAMENTALS OF ENTREPRENEURSHIP

COURSE DESCRIPTION
• This course provides an overview of the requirements for
launching an entrepreneurial career and starting up an
entrepreneurial venture.
• The course also shed light on the entrepreneur as the main
success factor in the new venture formation and
development.
• The central focus of the course is to prepare the students with
the essence of entrepreneurship and business planning skills
that is essential for the success of new ventures.
• The subjec t delivery combines both theoretical and practical
aspects of entrepreneurship. Theoretical aspect is looking at
the important elements in understanding entrepreneurship,
while practical aspect is engaging the student to develop
and propose a viable Business Plan.

1. Explain fundamentals of entrepreneurship
using verbal & non-verbal communication

2. Apply practical skills in determining the
business opportunities using verbal and non-

SCOPE
▪ Students need to identify one entrepreneur for the
case study.
▪ This activity aims to expose students to real
business.
▪ Collect as much information as possible about
the entrepreneur and its entrepreneurial
competencies through document reviews,
personal interviews, observation, etc.
▪ Throughout the process, students will learn about
entrepreneurial ventures and running a
sustainable business including challenges and
achievements.

Course Learning Outcome
Apply practical skills in determining
the business opportunities using verbal
and non-verbal communication
(PLO10, A5)
SCOPE
▪ This activity aims to expose students in
identifying business opportunities.
▪ Students are required to conduct a business
activity either sell product/ offer service.
▪ Business activity chosen can be online or
offline business.
▪ Duration for business activity is up to lecturer’s
discretion (one day to one month).

PROJECT DESCRIPTION – Use 5W1H
• What is the product/service
• Why select the product/service (justification)?
• Who is your customer, supplier, owner, etc?
• When do you do the activity (date, duration etc)?
• Where do you do the activity?

PROJECT OUTCOME
• Prepare simple financial statement of the activity (cash flow/ income statement).

MyENT REGISTRATION
• Attached the MyENT registration certificate.

EXPERIENTAL LEARNING
• Students write their experiences gained doing the activity.

APPENDICES
• Evidences such as pictures, snapshot conversation with customer, product/service
advertisements, customers testimonial, promotional activities etc
A3 : ONLINE QUIZ (10%)
• Students will be assessed on their
understanding on what they have learnt
throughout the semester.
• Topic – Chapter 1 to Chapter 6
• Format – either structured, MCQ, T/F or
fill in the blanks (lecturer’s discretion)
• Total marks – 40 marks
• Duration – max of 1 hr
