INTRODUCTION

Learning at the young age provides the foundation to build upon prior knowledge and the
ability to learn more as they grow.

According to Dr. Jessica Alvadro, academic program director for the BA in Early
Childhood Development at National University, “Someone who enjoys working with
children and wants to make a lasting impact to their lives will probably be happy with a
career in early childhood education”

This case study will very helpful for the children for them to be prepared for the next
level of their study, and helps to improve their skills. The respondent of this case study is
a preschool which he will learn the following lesson.

The alphabet is made of letters of a language, arranged in the order fixed by custom.
Teaching alphabet is important because this is the building block of literacy and so pupil
must learn to recognize and name he letters and the sound associated with each letter. By
recognition letter it is the ability of the pupil to name each letter and match that letter nam
with its written form, both upper and lower case, and by the recognition of alphabet
includes the ability to distinguish between similar looking letter example is he M and W
and also in mastery the letter help the pupil in learning letter sound easier for them. One
of the activities in learning alphabet is using the ABC song that will played every day for
them to recognize each letter easily.
Counting and recognizing numbers is important skills that pupil need to have because
children encounter and observe of mathematics every day, by teaching counting we need
to start counting from 1 to 10 and the way we teach counting is we can used the number
rhymes and incorporate numbers into daily task and other fun activities that the pupil will

enjoyed.

One of the pupil ne to learn also is about recognizing the basic shapes by this it will pupil
identify and organize visual information and allow him to compare, observe and discuss
everything around them.

DAY 20

NARATIVE
This case study is composed of 20 meetings which we twenty (20) topics. The 14 topics

that we discussed is about the alphabet its phonetic sound and writing its twenty six (26)

letters that every meetings we finish two letters by studying about its sound and how he

wrote those letters, every meeting theirs a lot of difficulties we encounter while we

studied each letter.

The three topic of our meetings is about counting numbers from one to ten, that first topic

about counting number we finished identifying and learn counting from 1 to 3, and the

other meeting is counting 4 to 6, then on the last topic is recognizing number from 7 to 10

and also they wrote those numbers according on what topic they have.

The last three topic that we discussed is the basic shapes the circle, square, triangle,

rectangle, Diamond and hearts. In first topic is about identifying and drawing the circle

and square shapes, the second lesson is the rectangle and triangle and the last is the

Diamond and Hearts.

The materials that I use in teaching is laptop and I make a tarpapel of the alphabet, and I

print out the tracing letters, numbers and shape for their activity.

In our whole session is full of excitement and also learning that the pupil did o our 20

meetings.
REFLECTION

Doing this case study give me more realization about in teaching, in every meeting that

we did is full of new learning, not just the pupil that I teach is the one who learn but also

me, because in every time we finished our discussion I make reflecting on what I did in

the whole discussion if I did very well, by this I learn how to be more creative in way of

teaching to get the attention of my pupil and to make him interested on my topic.

Teaching is not easy because in every time you face d your student you need always

prepared to the question that they ask and also to the things that they need. and also I

realize that you need also to have patience because not every time you teach the pupil is

always in a good mood.

Motivation in teaching is really important this is one of the things that I learn in doing this

case study, because child is easily to get tired and sometimes they lazy to do thing, here I

use the motivation to get his attention do finish his task and also to listen in my

discussion.

Most importantly lesson is you need to love teaching because this is one of the foundation

of a good teacher to make his pupil learne.
