III. RATIONALE/DESCRIPTION

Overcoming challenges in the academe can only be achieved if an educator is

equipped with the most important tools in relaying vital lessons for students to be life-
ready and competent notwithstanding challenges and disasters. The Covid 19 pandemic
has brought numerous educational hurdles in the delivery of the daily teaching-learning
process, yet, the Department of Education was able to formulate ways and solutions in
order to continue the basic education needs of the students for this school year.

DepEd Order no. 35. S, 2016 states strongly that DepEd fully supports the
continuing professional development of its teaching personnel based on the principle of
lifelong learning and DepEd’s commitment to the development of teachers’ potential aimed
towards their success in the profession.

As an institution of learning, the Masbate National Comprehensive High School has

long been doing measures to help elevate the professional and personal lives of its
teachers, and the need to conduct supplemental activities and trainings is timely enough

now that the world is faced with a health crisis that affects and continues to test all facets of
life. Moreover, as one of the core values of life, collaboration sets a reminder that one will
not thrive without recognizing one another’s strengths and contribution. If teamwork and
group interactions are absent, then the danger of a “silo effect” is bound to happen, thereby
affecting the overall performance of the department. Hence, the need to conduct LAC
session for the teachers to work collaboratively in order to realize the set educational aims.

Therefore, to be able to overcome the challenges of 21 st century learning, teachers

should be fortified with academic activities anchored on the mandates of the Department of
Education in order to ensure the continuous learning even during crisis.

IV. OBJECTIVES
