Culture Club Constitution

ARTICLE I. NAME AND PURPOSE


Section 1. The name of the organization by the Constitution shall be the Culture
Club.

Section 2. The purpose of the Culture Club shall be:


a. To recognize the various cultures at Ardrey Kell
b. To be a safe haven for people of various cultures
c. Get exposed to cultural taboos
d. To provide a social network for students interested in other cultures

Section 3. Member duties


a. The maximum number of absences that will be permitted is three, any
more missed will result in dismissal from the club.
b. Members must participate in presenting at least one culture throughout
the current school year.
c. Must be respectful and open-minded towards all cultures and their
peers.

ARTICLE II. STUDENTS’ RIGHTS


Section 1. Students are given the right to lead meetings by informing their peers
about their own/assigned cultures

Section 2. All members of the Culture Club have the right to offer suggestions about
improving conditions for better student accommodation.

ARTICLE IV. OFFICERS


Section 1. The officer positions include President, Vice President, Secretary, and ICC
Representative.

Section 2. To be an eligible candidate to hold an officer position, he/she must have


been a member of the Culture Club for at least one school year.

Section 3. Officers shall be elected by a majority vote through a secret ballot on the
last meeting held in the Spring semester. If there is a tie for a position, it
shall be broken with the flip of a coin.
Section 4. All officers shall serve for one year except for the President who will only
need to be re-elected if they are challenged by a member of the club. If
this occurs, the President shall be chosen by the other standing officers.

ARTICLE V. OFFICER DUTIES


Section 1. President
a. Organize and lead Culture Club meetings once a month during the
academic session.
a. Act as a intermediator between students and club officers/selected
cultures.
b. Collaborate with students and officers and decide on what cultures will
be selected for the current school year.
c. Responsible for enforcing rules and regulations created by the Culture
Club.

Section 2. Vice President


a. Aid the President with their duties
b. Fill in for the President when they can not attend club meetings
c. Keep the club website updated and organized for easy access of
information.

Section 3. Secretary
a. In charge of creating presentations for each meeting.

Section 4. ICC Representative


a. Attend all ICC meetings
b. Keep the club up to date with ICC requirements and announcements.

ARTICLE VI. POWER AND AUTHORITY


Section 1. All powers of the Culture Club are delegated by the President and Vice
President.

Section 2. The Culture Club has the power to choose the cultures that will be
discussed throughout the year.

ARTICLE VII. AMENDMENT PROCESS


Section 1. These bylaws may be amended by a ⅔ majority vote of the Culture Club
members.
Section 2. A bylaw may only be proposed by an officer of the club and will be added
to the Constitution if agreed upon by a majority vote.
