Question: What entrepreneurial habits did Harish Hande exhibit in handling SELCO?
Justify your answers.

As stated in the context Harish Hande and the company founded the SELCO, it
helps Indian’s poor so they can have electricity using solar power. Because of this
SELCO are known for redesigning off-the-shelf solar electric components to suit the
needs of urban and rural poor citizens. Harish Hande has a lot of entrepreneurial habits
one of this is that he turns obstacles into assets, based on my understanding on what I
read SELCO’s success is not that smooth because Harish Hande and Neville Williams
must sell and service photovoltaic systems in his home state. During its initial years the
company expanded deliberately because it gained capital and experience. Then during
the early 2000s the company created a franchised dealer network that cause to make
the company low on financial. Also, when they are recovering form the financial loss
there was a problem on the price in the solar panels sales and because of that the
investors put pressure on him to lay off employees and contract organizations. When
this happens Hande did not give up he wants to continue to help and give service too
poor Indians. Because of this we can also see that Harish Hande also focuses on the
causes, not effects, of confidence and success, because we can see that he is focused
on what he was doing and think on what the purpose of his move for the company. With
the help of the World Bank’s commercial finance arm, the International Finance
Corporation, He was able to restructure the company in year 2008. SELCO remained a
for a profit business, but Hande was able to seek new investors more aligned with its
mission. In addition, Hande was able to keep his sales and service organization intact,
complete with its core of highly motivated employees. Also, we can see to his other
entrepreneurial habit which is be proactive because we can see that he is very
hardworking so that his company will not fall. And we can see to him the think win-win
entrepreneurial habit because he is having a benefit to the company and as well as he
is giving benefit to others by helping people to have an opportunity to have work. In
summarization we can see that there many entrepreneurial habits that Harish Hande
shows in the context.
