Field Study 1 is an experiential course in which the students will be immersed in a real teaching-

learning environment and will be tasked to have a direct observation of how the teacher was able to
effectively apply various educational, theories, concepts, strategies, and pedagogies to establish an
effective teaching-learning process as well as observations on the students learning styles, behaviors,
and engagement which will serve as guide to the pre-service teachers under the course Field Study 1 as
they become future teachers. Here, Xavier Ateneo's Flex eLearning was highly utilized to make sure that
there will be a coherent, consistent, and effective delivery of teaching-learning experience among the
students.

The following are the accomplished tasks with its Field Study Area focus and its corresponding
Learning Episodes done by the pre-service teacher from the 4-week observation and immersion in the
partner school – Xavier University – Junior High School:

In this experiential course, the pre-service teachers are expected to independently take the initiative
to make meaning from the tasks that were assigned of them to do, and they do it through
independently arranging meetings with their Resource Teachers from the partner school - XU – JHS and
initiate interviews to deeply process the whole experience they had each week. They are also given the
chance to ask essential questions such as best classroom practices and advice from the resource teacher
which they will help them become better interns and experienced licensed teachers in the future as they
deal with the reality of being an educator.
