1. Briefly discuss the topic that was presented in the seminar.

The webinar was about the current trends in technology, how it will be like for the future of telco, and the state of telco
industries in the Philippines during the pandemic. He talked about digital transformation correlating it to the advancement
of living in our country. The speaker also mentioned the career opportunities that ECE graduates may have once they
enter the corporate world. He mentioned about the most recent rebranding of Facebook into Meta; how the CEO of the
company wants a metaverse. Engr. Cabiling sees this as an both opportunity and scary. Another interesting side note
was plan of implementing an online licensure examination in the Philippines. The likes of Big Data, IoT, and 5G were
highlighted in the session too.

2. What are the current critical issues and their relevance to the engineering profession?

The most relevant critical issue I think this webinar pointed is the digital transformation we are currently dealing. The
pandemic brought us to wireless payment systems, online learning, virtual reality, and a lot more. These are advantageous
for most of us, however, there are dangers if mishandled. As much as the users are vigilant, some are still using the
services to their personal interest. These technology and services should be a solution to a problem and not create
another problem.

3. What are the appropriate engineering solutions to address the effect of the current critical issues?

The most appropriate engineering solution to the critical issue mentioned in question number 2 is educating the mass
with information that are accurate and helpful to them. It is our responsibility to not just connect people with the latest
trends and let them enjoy it, but it comes with our supervision and help them aware of the risks. Data is very much
available and free to access in this digital world. It is up to us how we can protect it while immersing ourselves to the
digital world.

4. Provide a conclusion/recommendation on the seminar.

Personally, I commend the speaker on how he was able to immerse the audience in what he was discussing. Maybe
because everyone was interested in listening to the topic which they can relate. The only thing I have minor comment to
is with the emcee, it is best if we try our best to talk in English as advised by Engr. Dela Cruz since it was a formal webinar.
