Technology has revolutionized the world and has been helping us reach the zeniths of our professional or

personal lives. However, while being engrossed in the ‘miracles’ of technology, we often remain ignorant and
clueless about the harm it begets.

First and foremost, it is my firm opinion that technology has made us replace the real pleasures of life. We now
spend most of our precious time hunched over our computers or phones, playing fantasy games and swiping
through Facebook newsfeed. Admittedly, what we do not realize is that the support and companionship we
receive from our loved ones cannot be substituted with a screen, and those long phone calls or chats with our
peers cannot compete with a warm hug or mutual smile we share with our parents or siblings.

Additionally, it is an undeniable fact that technology has opened the door for bullies to tyrannize a victim even
from the safety of their own living room. Of course, you might say to yourself in such a situation, “turn it off”.
However, the bitter truth is that the stinging effects caused by the preposterous remarks on Facebook or Twitter,
for example, linger in inexplicable ways. It is doubtless that having internet trolls under one’s skin can easily
shatter their self-esteem and confidence, sometimes leading teenagers to inflict harm to their bodies.

All in all, without a shadow of doubt, it is my unwavering credence that technology is silently tearing us limb
from limb whilst we are all hoodwinked to thinking it is eminently propitious.

What makes schools desirable

By Nafha, Bileddhoo School
Am I the only one who relishes the idea of having a little delirium through the continuous mind-
numbing lessons? Hardly anyone denies that sport lessons are a must-have subject at school and I
am no exception.

To begin with, what I adore the most about having sport lessons is the way that it teaches us vital life
skills. It is a no brainer that enjoying our time with peers will surely help us to be more social and to
understand others. For instance, when we take our time to play a basketball game, it will help us to
bond well with friends, as well as to learn to be a part of something bigger; a team. As a result, the
school’s atmosphere will become more enjoyable, due to the strong relationship amongst the pupils.
Physical education is indeed a blessing in disguise.

What’s more, it is this notion that makes the schools more desirable. It is beyond all disputes that
knowing we have an exclusive period just to relax ourselves would undeniably make the school a bit
more fulfilling. When we are certain to get a subject to refresh our minds through a match of volley,
for example, we could change the whole idea of the schools being deadly bland. Consequently, the
students’ result will flourish tremendously as the love for our school grows. Unequivocally, a sports
lesson is the best remedy for an exhausted mind.

In a nutshell, I unwaveringly believe that it is high time we all gave the concept of having physical
education in the school a go-ahead as it redefines our mindset about schools and class times. After
all, as school is the main propeller of sweet memories, we better make the most of it, shouldn’t we?
