CITIZEN PARTICIPATION IN ELECTION

Answer the following questions in your own word.

1. How do you choose the candidate you vote for?

It will be my first time to vote in the next coming election and I will surely not
waste my power as an individual to vote for the right and deserving candidate. I will choose
the right and deserving candidate by looking in their qualities, records, backgrounds and
past experiences regarding in politics. I am looking for the candidate who is kind, honest,
responsible, respectful, merciful and helpful. A person who has the big heart to help and
support the people who are in needs. A person who has the willingness to help our country
to thrive and grow in every aspect. A person who is ready to fight for the rights of being a
Filipino. A person who is prepared to help in any circumstances may happen in our country.
Willing to give so much of themselves with no expectation in return. A person who have
the potential and capability to lead in every good and bad times. A person who is very
approachable and humble despite of the achievements and success he/she received in life.
The most important qualities I am looking for a candidate is having the love for the
Filipinos and our country, who has a big dream for the Filipinos and our country.
2. List 5 characteristics that you look for in a candidate (elected positions at the national
level)? Why?

The Philippines soon to be candidate must have these 5 characteristics in order to achieve
the freedom and peace to each of the Filipinos and our country and these 5 characteristics
are:

1. HONEST - honesty is necessity when it comes to politics. As a Filipino, I have


observed some of the leaders here in the Philippines who are not honest in their actions
and words. Some of the leaders here in the Philippines make promises to the Filipinos
and at the end the promises will not be fulfilled. Therefore, one of the characteristic a
candidate must have is honesty. The one who is true to his/her words.

2. RESPONSIBLE – a responsible person takes full responsibilities in his/her duties,


actions and words, therefore, a candidate/ soon to be leader must be responsible enough
to fulfill his/her duties to our country.

3. BRAVE – my soon to be leader must be brave enough to fight for the rights of the
Filipinos. Brave enough to be the voice of Filipinos and speak up for truths.

4. PASSIONATE – a soon to be leader must not be afraid to take a big risk for the best
of each Filipinos and success of our country. A soon to be leader don’t waste time for
nothing and always chasing for the goals and success.

5. COMPETENT – a soon to be leader is knowledgeable regarding his/her field of work.


Who is good in decision making and problem solving in order for our country to have
peace and unity.
3. List 5 characteristics that you look for in a candidate (elected positions at the local level)?
Why?

These 5 characteristics must a have here in our City in order for our City to prosper and
grow more. In order for each of everyone of us to have a leader that will help and guide us
throughout his/her journey. A leader who will ensure the safety and welfare of his/her
people. A leader who will do everything for the brighter future of our City. The 5
characteristics that I look for in a candidate are:

2. RESPONSIBLE
3. OPTIMISTIC
4. BRAVE
5. HONEST

4. Do you value your vote in an election in your classroom? Why?

Yes, I truly value my vote in electing class officers because I believe that every vote of an
individual has a power to make a good difference even it’s a school election or classroom election.
I believe that valuing my vote even it is an election in classroom is my right as a human or an
individual and it’s still has a big impact for me as a student because the leaders that I voted will
help and guide us throughout the school year, therefore, valuing my vote in electing class officers
is a must and important.
