HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS DURING PANDEMIC. UNIVERSITY OF LA
SALETTE, INC.

The study was conducted during the school year 2020-2021 at Isabela National
High School, City of Ilagan, Isabela which aims to 1. determine as to what extent does
4Ps grant help to the SHS students during pandemic in terms of educational assistance;
determine how the 4ps beneficiaries use their financial allowance; and 3. how does the
4Ps improve students’ academic performance.
Data were gathered using a structured questionnaire. The Statistical Package for
Social Sciences (SPSS) was used to analyze data gathered. The frequency counts and
percentage, means, t-test, and Analysis of Variance were used to shed light to the
objectives of the study.
The highlights of the study are as follows: 1. the respondents generally agreed
that the SHS learners are benefited to the 4Ps grant as to its extent of use, spending of
financial allowance and improving the students’ academic performance during the
pandemic with a mean of 3.19, 3.16 and 3.20 respectively; 2. significant differences were
found in the benefits of 4Ps to SHS learners on the extent of use of 4Ps grant to the SHS
students during pandemic when they are grouped by gender, age, number of members
who are 4Ps beneficiaries, parents’ source of income and family size. No significant
difference was found as to monthly cash grant; 3. significant differences were found in
the benefits of 4Ps to SHS learners on the spending financial allowance during pandemic
when they are grouped by age, number of members who are 4Ps beneficiaries, parents’
source of income, monthly cash grant and family size. No significant difference was
found as to gender; and significant differences were found in the benefits of 4Ps to SHS
learners on the improving the students’ academic performance during pandemic when
they are grouped by gender, number of members who are 4Ps beneficiaries, parents’
source of income, monthly cash grant and family size. No significant difference was
found as to age.
