ABSTRACT

Alternative work assignments have been increasingly adopted by

organizations as a way to improve employee productivity. This study aimed to

examine the impact of different work arrangements on employee productivity and

to identify the most effective approach to improving productivity through

alternative work assignments.

The respondents of the study were (72) drawn at random from the ranks of

Permanent, Casual, and JO employees in the municipality of Pila, Laguna. A

survey questionnaire was use as the research instrument in help to gather data.

The researchers arrived to the following findings; in terms of the profile of

the respondents according to age, majority are between the ages of 36 and 45

with 42%. Likewise, females dominated the whole population with 60% of the

entire population. Meanwhile, in terms of the Alternative Work Assignment Set-

up: Flexible Working Hours has the biggest share of the entire population at 92%.

On the other hand, in terms of the Employment Status majority of the

respondents are employed as permanent with 46%.

With regards on the factors affecting the employees’ productivity in terms

of employees wellness gathered 4.02 as the average weighted mean obtained

“agree”. Meanwhile, regarding the employee’s output efficiency, gathered 4.28 as

the average weighted mean obtained “strongly agree”. With regards with

employment pay structure, 3.94 as the average weighted mean obtained “agree”.

As per the respondents in the indication about personal attitude, 3.66 was

gathered as the average weighted mean obtained “agree”. In the factor indicating

training and career development, 3.98 was gathered as the average weighted

mean obtained “agree” with the standard deviation of 0.81. Lastly, when it comes

to work environment, 4.05 was the average weighted mean obtained “agree” with

the standard deviation of 1.10.
