Answers briefly:

1. Which one principle of Oliva is reflected in the Lesson Plan? Explain briefly.
 Curriculum development is more effective when it follows a systematic
process. On this lesson plan, this principle of Oliva is reflected in a way
that the lesson plan contain almost everything that needed such as
desired outcomes, subject matter, context complimented with
reference, needed materials and resources and evaluation procedures
but there are some lackings regarding the method used by the teacher.
2. If you were to improve the design, what will you add, or subtract or modify?
Write your re-design suggestion.
 If I were to improve the design, maybe I will add some methods because
I noticed that the teacher simply discussed the lesson. I will provide
some competitive activities because I believe that some students like
competition. This will make the students engage themselves in the
lesson. Also , the teacher should make sure that there is an interaction
between her and the students.

I think curriculum
change is inevitable
because as the
classroom and school
changed the curriculum
should respond to the
changes in order to
achieve the desired
goal. it is inevitable

development that’s
why the curriculum
should be dynamic.

2. Does curriculum change not consider the existing one? No

Curriculum change
should consider the

new if they didn’t know
the lackings of the
existing one and by
considering the existing

design curriculum that
will able to address the
changing situation. The
existing one is
considered as a pattern
for the new design.
Pattern that need to be
develop.

3. Should curriculum be signed only by one person? No

No man is an island. I
believed that
everything we do we
must rely on others
somehow and as for
the curriculum,
different perspectives

not only the idea of
one person because
how would that
curriculum be effective
if it only signed by one
person.

4. Should any change in curriculum include an evaluation Yes

process?
Any change in
curriculum should
include an evaluation

situation in order to
collect and analyze
information to produce
better outcome.

the environment and
learning abilities should
be considered also.

in order to understand
the lesson.

9. Should contents be updated and relevant? Yes

The content should be

updated and relevant
in order to respond in
the updated classroom
also.

10. Is there only one design that a teacher should know? No

The teacher should be

creative and innovative
enough so that she/he
will immediately
respond to the
unexpected situation.
As a teacher, one
should always have a
plan B if the plan A is
not effective.

If you got 10 correct answers out of 10 items, Congratulations! You are now ready to move to the next
lesson. If otherwise, you need to review this lesson. Good luck.
Self-Reflect

Instructions: Provide answers to the incomplete sentences. After reading and discussing with my
classmates, this lesson on fundamental of curriculum designing or crafting a curriculum.

1. I realize that
In making or designing new curriculum, the teacher should consider the available resources in
the environment. She should also be a keen observant in her surrounding in order to be
aware of the changes in the current situation and new knowledge so that she will able to
design curriculum that respond to that changes. I also realized that teacher should be creative
and flexible in order to adapt easily in the changing situation and she should have
competency in designing multiple methods in teaching as well as in crafting curriculum.

2. I feel that
Designing curriculum should be planned carefully and spend more time and efforts doing
some evaluation if it is effective and fit to the changing environment. I also felt that in
changing curriculum, one should prioritize the factors that needed more improvement and
development in order to address the changing learning system.

3. I need to
Be aware of my surroundings so that i will know how to deal with updated changes that may
happen in the future. And as a future curriculum designer, I need to be flexible to adapt
changes easily and I also need to learn more to be competent and effective individual.
