Types of Curriculum Which Curriculum is present in the classroom

that I have observed?
(check and explain your observation)
1. Recommended  This type of curriculum was present in
the class that I observed. The teacher
wrote her objectives on the board which
are based on the Most Essential Learning
Competencies (MELCs). The MELCs are
mandated by a DepEd Order.
2. Written  This one is also present because the
teacher distributed modules to the
learners.
3. Taught  I have observed this when the teacher
connects the lesson to real life
experiences of the learners.
4. Supported  This was observable when the teacher
gave worksheets to the learners which
will support the Written and Taught
curricula.
5. Assessed  This type of curriculum was applied by
the teacher when she gave summative
assessment in a form of a quiz to the
learners.
6. Learned  The assessment given by the teacher
includes an essay which will allow the
learners to materialize what they have
learned.

LEARNING ACTIVITY NUMBER 2

THE TEACHER AND THE SCHOOL CURRICULUM

PROF 108

Direction: From the 7 roles of a teacher as a curricularist, which do you think are the top 3 most
important roles? Explain your answer.

Teacher as curricularist roles:

1. Knower
2. Writer
3. Planner
4. Initiator
5. Innovator
6. Implementor
7. Evaluator

My top 3 choices My explanation

1. Planner I will put this role as my top choice, because I
believe that everything a teacher does inside
the classroom begins with a plan. It is very
important that a teacher knows how to plan
well not just his/her lesson but most
importantly the execution, the learning
environment, the assessment to be used and
a lot more.
2. Initiator Everything changes, to catch up with these
changes, a teacher has to have initiative,
he/she should have the initiative on
whatever is happening around him/her since
he/she is accountable with whatever
happens inside and during his/her class. He
should initiate to learn new teaching
strategies and updated assessment tools to
be used.
3. Implementor A teacher upholds a dignity inside and
outside the school. For a teacher to become
a good implementor, he/she must be able to
practice what he/she preached. This is one of
the most challenging roles of a teacher for
there are cases that one has to violate but
for some valid reasons.
