Analyze

Answer the following questions:

Are the learning principles applied by the teacher appropriate with the nature of the learners and learning conditions? Why or why
not?
Yes, the applied learning principles are applicable or appropriate with nature of the learners as
the inputs that they gathered are exactly what they need to have and developed according to
their grade level and age. The learning conditions including verbal information, intellectual
skills, cognitive strategies, motor skills, and attitudes are evident in the learning process that is
why I can say that the learning principles are met and appropriate.

Did you observe passive learners? If yes, what might be their reasons why they are passive/silent?

Yes, I observed passive learners because the class is heterogeneous; there are different learners such
as passive learners. The reason could be they are shy to share their answer or it’s just that maybe
they do not want to participate in oral reciting and they just prefer written activities. They are not
totally passive but they just absorb, paying attention to detail and exercise active learning.

Are the communication strategies used by the teacher appropriate to the level of the learners? Justify your answer.
Yes, the communication strategies used by the teacher like the written communication, oral
communication, listening communication, reading communication, and visual communication are
appropriate to the level of the learners because I observe that they gain knowledge and improve their
skills using this strategies. For instance, in there spelling activity, their listening skills are enhanced
when the teacher read aloud the text that they are going to spell. The following communication
strategies are visible and justifiable as it leveled the required level of the learners to acquire it.

4 If you are the teacher, what possible learning principle(s) and strategy(ies) would you apply to elicit meaningful
learning?
If I were the teacher, the possible learning principle that I would apply are learners should learn what is
personally meaningful to them, and learning occurs through social interaction. The strategies that I will
going to imply in these principles that I chose are integrating strategies that would enhance their social
skills and life skills. For instance, in social skills I will be going to give them group activities and group
brainstorming so that the learning provides chances for interactive discussion and exchange between
classmates and lecturers. While in life skills, I will imply activities that require self-awareness, empathy
and decision making so that they are able to visualize how their personal lives can benefit from new
information and abilities.

Reflec
1. Among the principles of learning, which one is the most important for you? Substantiate your answer.

For me, among of all the principles of learning that is being mentioned above, the most important
is that learning involves creating supportive and responsive environments that are tuned to
stimulate a learner to become active. It is influenced by the total environment. I chose this because
for me, the presence of a healthy environment makes the learners to learn more. Therefore, the
learners will be going to have an active learning process. I strongly believe that having a positive
environment makes the learners to be more comfortable in teaching and learning process as their
peers and teacher gives supportive and responsive ambiance, this will surely results a good impact
to the learning and building knowledge of the children.

2. What insight did you learn from the class activities that you have observed?

I learned that it is important to use appropriate strategies in teaching the learners because it
gives meaningful and active learning to them. Integrating different strategies that is aligned
with their level and conditions of learning can enhance different skills. As learning is a
continuous process, incorporating different activities utilizing different strategies will make
the existing knowledge widen and deepens.
