3.2.4 Giờ Trái đất là sự kiện quốc tế hàng năm do Quỹ Quốc tế Bảo vệ thiên nhiên phát
động. Với mục đích khuyến khích, kêu gọi các hộ gia đình và cơ sở kinh doanh tắt đèn điện
và các thiết bị điện không ảnh hưởng lớn đến sinh hoạt trong 1 giờ, từ 8 giờ 30 đến 9 giờ
30 tối (giờ địa phương) ngày thứ bảy tuần thứ 3 của tháng 3 hàng năm. Sự kiện Giờ trái
đất bắt đầu từ năm 2007 ở Sydney (Australia), số người tham gia chỉ khoảng 2 triệu
người. Sự kiện này nhằm nâng cao nhận thức cho cộng đồng trong việc tiết kiệm điện
năng, giảm lượng khí thải CO2 ra môi trường.

3.2.5 Ngày 12/6 tổng số người chết do lở đất, lũ và sét đánh tại miền đông nam Bangladesh
