INTRODUCTION

INTRODUCTION TO NGO

Next Generation Foundation (NGF) is the leading Non-

Governmental Organization working to provide quality
education to the underprivileged children of India. Next
Generation Foundation was established to provide pre-
school education to the children in the slums of India.

VISION

‘To provide education to every poor and deprived section of the society.’

OBJECTIVE

ABOUT COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT PROJECT

I am very happy that I have worked with such a good NGO.I have

been working there from 1st July 2019 to 19TH July 2019.I have learnt

so many new things during this MGN231 project and inspired some

children to clean their school and surroundings.

I have tried my best to help children and I do believe that,

“Children are the most valuable resources and its best hope for the future”

Aims and Objectives of CDP

Like other development countries Asian countries are also facing a

variety of social problems for which a specific solution is required to

trace these problems in a social situation. We have to use the

techniques of community development upon its people.

Following are the main aims and objectives of community

development:

1. To aware the people. The main objective of community

development programme is working to make the people aware from

various problems in a community. It helps them to provide

knowledge and to know about the main causes affects their social

life.

2. All sided development. Community program is interested in all

aspects of a community. The development is necessary in these

places as a whole in education, health, recreation and

employment. It seeks the opportunities for the better living standard

of the community people. Development is required in all sectors of

the community.

3. To motivate people. Programs are working for the motivation of

community people. Social organizers are employed in various

sectors for their arousal and working for community welfare and

betterment of humanity.

4. Provide equality. It gives equality to all people living in a territory. It

gives equal chances and opportunities to bring the resources for

their utility. So it provides equality in education, health and also other

facilities provided to them.

5. Help the people to motivate their selves. Such programs are

interested in the people to enable them to help one another and of

their own. It makes them to stand on their own feet. They have to use

their resources and make their lives comfortable.

Cleanliness in Schools

School is a place where one can learn so many things. It helps the

students to grow up into a responsible person. Every day the students

spend a lot of time in learning and playing.

Today, some school grounds are full of litter and debris that they

resemble a garbage dump more than a place to play or exercise.

Students should help to keep them clean and beautiful. They should

be role model for others to keep cleanliness.

Recycle bins must be placed at various places in schools to promote

recycling of waste among students, teachers and other employees.

Children in the school can be encouraged to put waste in

appropriate bins so that they develop a habit of disposing of waste

properly.

Cleanliness, Personal hygiene, Good sanitation provides a clean

school environment for the students to keep them in good health and

safe.

Why should we keep our classrooms and school clean

If we keep our school clean it would have a very good reputation

and more people would come to study in the particular school. If the

school is not clean it would waste the school's time to clean up. If

nobody cleans up, then children would have nowhere to play and it

would affect their learning time. I think it is imperative that we keep

our school clean.

Another reason for why we should keep our schools clean is that it

would spread germs and more insects would come which would

cause different plagues and diseases to spread. It would also affect

the human community as children won't be able to go to schools

due to health reasons. Even rats and mice would come out and dirty

the place. Scientist say that most of the diseases are carried out by

rats and mice as they have contact with germ spreading insects. It is

critical that we keep our schools clean.

Teaching Cleanliness in School

Demonstrating (The Fun Way)

 Used posters that illustrate habits like washing hands, brushing

teeth, keeping the surroundings clean.
 Allow students to design and sketch these posters.
 Involved students in making instruction boards which display
habits of cleanliness in step by step procedures, which can then
be hung up around class as reminders.

Activity Organized
 Organize cleanliness drives in school.
 Involve children in different activities during the drives such as
picking up litter around the school, organizing classrooms,
performing streets play on the importance of cleanliness, etc.
 Taught them effective hand wash technique for better hygiene.
 Played some learning games.
 Demonstrated the effects of an unhygienic lifestyle to the
students.
 Planted some plants near ground areas.
 Cleans classrooms, grounds etc.
 Taught children about plastic wastes.

Advantages of Cleanliness in Schools

1. A BETTER ENVIRONMENT FOR LEARNING

Of all the advantages of cleanliness in schools, maximizing the

student learning experience remains the most important. Studies

show that dirty facilities have a negative impact on classroom

performance. Students maintain higher grades and better

graduation rates in clean educational environments.

2. IMPROVED PARENTAL INVOLVEMENT

Parental involvement shouldn’t be motivated by concerns over

dingy classrooms and dirty bathrooms. A professionally cleaned

school gives parents the assurance that their children are learning in

a healthy atmosphere, and it encourages parents to stay involved in

the process in a positive way.

3. MORE PRODUCTIVE TEACHING

Your school serves as your teachers’ workplace, and they deserve to

look forward to each new day. They perform their jobs better when

they aren’t distracted by substandard surroundings. Teachers are

classrooms.

4. FEWER ABSENCES AND SICK DAYS

Maintaining cleanliness in your school helps reduce student

absences and teacher sick days. A cleaning contractor makes sure

round. That protects everyone’s health on campus especially

during flu season.

The cleanliness of school surroundings makes a difference in how

students feel about their campus. Clean classrooms, hallways and

cafeterias inspire everyone to pitch in and keep the building in top

Conclusion

Cleanliness is not the responsibility of only one person

however; it is the responsibility of each and every person

living in the home, city and country. We should understand

its different dimensions to fully understand its benefits. We all

should take a cleanliness pledge that we will never litter and

will never allow anyone to litter.

Cleanliness improves our morale and self- esteem as well as

respect from other people. It enhances our status in the

society. It plays a great role in making a person prominent in

the society. Cleanliness is very important to maintain our

healthy lifestyle and accepted standard of living.

Cleanliness is a bigger issues in developing countries due to

high illiteracy rate. A person must be taught the importance

of cleanliness from the childhood by parents and teachers.
