Tips For
Making This
Square
You’ll want to be sure you steam block or wet block your
project.

I prefer to wet block my squares. Mainly because I feel it’s less

harsh to the fibers. To wet block your square read the
instructions below:

• Submerge your square in a lukewarm water bath. Gently

squeeze out the square, lay it on a towel, and roll the square
up into the towel so as to help squeeze out any remaining
water.

• Afterwards you will want to measure out a 10”x 10” space

and take the dampened square pinning it to the designated
measurements and allow to fully dry before attaching to
your blanket.
This afghan is one of the funnest projects I have ever worked on in my entire professional maker carrier!

One of the inspirations for creating this square was texture! I When I discovered this stitch a couple years ago, I fell
knew as a collaborative group we wouldn’t be able to choose absolutely in love! I knew it would be the perfect addition to
our colors. the traveling afghan project!

So my next creative option to was make the #travelingknitafghan

YarnHookNeedles square come alive through use of texture
and stitches!
YarnHookNeedles ULS - under loose strands

***This is a 12 row pattern repeat

Pattern GAUGE: 16sts X 20rows

Notes:
I used some basic knitting stitches mixed with a few more
complex techniques.

If you would like and/or need more visual instructions, I have

created a full-length video tutorial explaining the stitch
pattern repeat, how to block and seam on your square. I also
share the traveling afghan itself before I boxed it up and sent
it along to the next maker!
