I. OBJECTIVES
At the end of the lesson, the students are expected to:
A. Identify the different types of adverbs;
B. Write sentences with appropriate adverbs;
C. Demonstrate teamwork and responsibility towards learning.
I. SUBJECT MATTER
Topic : Adverb

Materials: manila paper, colored pictures and textbook.
II. PROCEDURES
A. Preparatory Activities
1. Prayer
2. Checking of attendance
3. Recall of Past Lesson
B. Motivation
The teacher shows a picture. The students will be asked some
questions to engage them in formulation of the lesson. Varied answers
are expected from the students. The teacher will make a graphic
organizer to present the similar ideas regarding the lesson.
C. Discussion
After formulation of the lesson which is all about adverb, the teacher
posts sentences on the board and the students read and analyse the
following sentences which will lead them to the definition of the
adverb.

D. Drills
Drill 1: Identify the type of adverb used in the sentence.
1. We headed to the north. (Place)
2. The contestant arrived too late. (Degree)
3. The laborers felt entirely exhausted. (Manner)
4. The stranger suddenly disappeared. (Manner)
5. I seldom see her in the market. (Place)
E. Application
Group Activity: The students will be grouped into three and each
group will pick pictures which they will be describing using adverbs.
The pictures are common activities or actions we done every day.
F. Generalization
What part of speech does an adverb modify? What are the kinds of
adverbs? How do you differentiate adverb from adjective? What is the
importance of adverb in sentence construction?
III. EVALUATION
TEST1. Direction: Identify adverb type of adverb used in the sentence.
Encircle the adverb and underline the word it modifies.
IV. ASSIGNMENT
Make a list of most frequent activities you are doing every weekend and
describe it vividly using adverbs.
