Time Definition

Quick Reference Guide

Note:

• Focus on the activity that is underway, not why the activity is being done
• Define problem events as they occur. Report as non-productive time (NPT) if
applicable. Assign responsible party.
• Choose appropriate job type - This insures cost and time are correctly allocated
• Use milestones to flag sidetracks and other major events
• Remember - Data accuracy is an OIMS requirement.

When to change from Drilling to Completion Job

• Production / Development Wells

Completion operations begin after the production casing or liner is set and
successfully tested.

Completion operations end after the wellhead is installed, all down-hole work is
competed and the well is cleaned up to the satisfaction of the production
department.

• Exploration Wells

Completion operations begin after final logs have been run and a decision has
been made to test the well (including time and cost to run a liner or casing if
applicable).
