Dear Hiring Manager,

As a full-time nursing student and patient care technician (PCT) in

the Emergency Department, the advertisement for RN in Neuro
ICU sparked my interest. When reviewing the position
requirements and your organization's website, I was excited to
find that my qualifications and personal strengths align with your
needs and mission.

I bring a comprehensive set of skills that I believe will be valuable

to St. Joseph’s Hospital and Barrow Neurological Institute .
Throughout my nursing school career, I have learned many skills
that would be beneficial in my role as an ICU nurse, such as
monitoring vital signs, understanding lab values, recognizing
changes in patient condition, and keeping sterility when needed
while always being cognizant of infection control procedures. I
understand the importance of patient advocacy and promoting
patient autonomy in their care experience. I am able to utilize
holistic approaches and strive to be more culturally competent
each day. I am compliant with HIPAA confidentiality when
communicating to families and the health care team in obtaining
the best care for my patients.

I am eager to learn and gain experience from this opportunity

that would enhance my critical-thinking skills and exposure to a
high-acuity environment with ranging circumstances. It is a
priority for me to learn how to not compromise quality patient
care and ‘humankindness’ in a fast-paced setting. I will be
proactive in my RN responsibilities to communicate with and
assist other hospital staff when needed to ease each patients’
stay and ensure the best outcomes.
