Teacher's Activity Student's Activity

Engage
(The teacher is asking questions to the students.) (The students will answer in chorus)
Ok class, have you ever experience earthquake
drill
ok what did you observed? Yes. Sir.

Aright very good. many students lined up and bowed while

holding their heads and simultaneously
exiting

okay class, have you think and asked your self

why there's an earthquake? and why volcanoes
eruption? Yes Sir.

Explore

Ok class, You already knew our topic today.

So our topic is all about the earthquake and
volcanoes .
(The student will study and observed the

you some questions and we will have discussion picture.)
about that.

Ok class, what can you say about this picture.

ok class, very good.

Based on this picture what is the name of the

cause of earthquake
Excellent!
Alright verygood class.
The picture shows a volcano that releasing
a magma

Explain
( the teacher will explain what is the causes of Sir, because of volcanic eruption
earthquake )
Earthquakes and volcanoes are the direct result of
the movement of tectonic plates at fault lines.
The term fault is used to describe the boundary
between tectonic plates. Most of the earthquakes
and volcanoes around the Pacific ocean basin—a
pattern known as the “ring of fire”—are due to
the movement of tectonic plates in this region.
Other observable results of short-term plate
movement include the gradual widening of the
Great Rift lakes in eastern Africa and the rising of
the Himalayan Mountain range. The motion of
plates can be described in four general patterns:
Collision: when two continental plates are shoved (The students are expected to listen
together carefully to the discussion of the teacher.)
Subduction: when one plate plunges beneath
another (Fig. 7.15)
Spreading: when two plates are pushed apart (Fig.
7.15)
Transform faulting: when two plates slide past
each other (Fig. 7.15)
Ok class, do you understand how the food digest
to our body?

ok class is there any questions about our

discussion?

(The student will take down notes in

important information.)

Elaborate

( The teacher will recall on how earthquakes

starts.)

Now class, based on what we discuss Again what

is earthquake?

Excellent , class

How about the volcanoes

Vergood students.

An earthquake is the result of a sudden

release of stored energy in the Earth's
crust that creates seismic waves.
Evaluate
( the teacher will give an activity to the students)

Ok class get your notebook and answer this

activity. A volcano is a rupture in the crust of a
planetary-mass object, such as Earth, that
allows hot lava, volcanic ash, and gases to
escape from a magma chamber below the
1. What is Collision? surface. On Earth, volcanoes are most
often found where tectonic plates are
2. What subduction? diverging or converging, and most are
found underwater.
3.What is spreading?
