    He was a musical composer of Peruvian music. He was born on


    February 25, 1932, in Puquío. To begin with, Augusto in the 70s with
    the famous song "Y se llama Perú", was considered the greatest
    "hymn" of Peru. The talent of Polo Campos was internationally
    recognized in 1983 when he was awarded by the OAS with the title
    of "Heritage of America" But on November 21, 2017 the Ministry of
    Culture awarded him the distinction "Meritorious Personality of
    Culture", for contributing to the enrichment of Peruvian music and the
    identity of values. He died on January 17, 2018 in Lima.
