Q. No Questions Marks CO BL PI
Q.1 a) Define representative fraction. Classify scales on the
4 CO1 L2 10.1.1
basis of R.F. & name different types of scale.
b) Draw a table showing types of lines, description and
8 CO1 L2 10.1.2
their general applications.
c) A distance of 140 kilometers, between two stations of
a railway map, is represented by a length of 70mm on
the map and construct a diagonal scale to read
8 CO1 L4 1.3.1
distances, on the map, correctly to a kilometer and
long enough to measure 300 km. Also mark on this
scale length corresponding to 176 km and 204 km.
d) The RF of a plain scale is 1:500000. 18.2 cm length on
this scale represents the distance between two places
on a map which is not greater than 100 km. what is the
8 CO1 L6 1.3.1
actual distance between these two places? Construct
this scale and mark this distance between these
places.
Q.2 a) Differentiate between first and third angle
4 CO2 L2 10.1.1
projections. Draw proper figure in support.
b) A point is 25mm above the HP and is in first
quadrant, its shortest distance from xy line is 50 mm. 8 CO2 L3 1.3.1

Draw its plan and elevation.

c) The top view of as 75 mm long line AB measures 65
mm, while the length of its front view is 50mm. It’s
one end A is in the H.P. and 12 mm in front of the V.P. 8 CO2 L3 1.3.1

Draw the projections of AB and determine its

inclinations with the H.P. & V.P. Show also its traces.
d) Three vertical poles AB, CD & EF are respectively 5, 8
& 12 m long their end B, D & F are on the ground and
lie at the corners of an equilateral triangle at 10 m 8 CO2 L5 10.3.1

long side. Determine graphically the distance

between the top ends of poles viz. AC, CE and EA.
Q.3 a) Define profile plane & draw proper figure
4 CO3 L2 10.3.1
representing profile plane.
b) A thin square with 60 mm side stands on one of its
corners in H.P. & the opposite corner is raised so that
one of its diagonals is twice that of the others. If one 8 CO3 L4 10.1.3

of the diagonals is parallel to both the planes, draw its

projection and determine its inclination.
c) A pentagonal pyramid base 30 mm side and axis 70
mm long has one of its slant edges in the H.P. and
8 CO3 L4 10.3.1
inclined at 300 to the V.P. draw the projections of the
solid when the apex is towards the observer.
d) Draw the projections of a pentagonal prism, base 25
mm side and axis 50 mm long, resting on one of its
8 CO3 L4 10.3.1
rectangular faces on the H.P., with the axis inclined at
450 to the V.P.
Q.4 a) Explain with proper example about the industrial
4 CO4 L3 1.3.1
applications of development of surfaces.
b) A square prism, base 40 mm side and axis 80 mm long
has its base on the ground and its faces equally
inclined to the V.P. it is cut by a plane, perpendicular
to the V.P., inclined at 600 to the H.P. and passing 8 CO4 L5 10.3.1

through a point on the axis, 55mm above the ground.

Draw its front view, sectional top view and another
top view on an A.I.P. parallel to section plane
c) Draw the development of surface of cone of 75mm
base diameter and 80mm axial height resting about its
base in HP. It is cut by an auxiliary inclined cutting 8 CO4 L5 10.3.1

plane cutting the axis of the cone at an angle of 450 at

a distance of 35 mm from apex.
d) Draw the development of the surface of a pentagonal
prism resting on HP about is base with one of its base
edge is parallel to VP such that the corner opposite to
that edge is towards observer. It is cut by a plane 8 CO4 L6 10.3.1

which is perpendicular to the VP and inclined at 300

to HP. A.I.P passes through the right most corner of
the top.
Q.5 a) Classify solids. Define solids of revolution. 4 CO5 L2 1.3.1

b) Draw the front view and top view of the isometric

view of the machine part shown:
