NON-NURSING THEORY
Title of the Learning Activity

Choose one of the non-nursing theories that you can relate to your own life experiences, especially in
relation to COVID 19 Pandemic.

The Lewin Change Theory is one of the aspects that greatly affect people regardless of their ethnicity,
nationality, language, etc. It has the wholesome idea that change is inevitable and that it is a dynamic process
that affects an individual’s behavior. The idea of change seems to be terrible as we go out of our comfort zones,
but it is the only constant in the world and it needs to be embraced because it sharpens the knowledge of the
individual. The theory involves people being more open-minded and being observant of their surroundings in
order to be able to apply action in different situations. Change may alter what used to be, but it will also become
a teacher of skills and knowledge as you go on in your life.

The situation we are in today is very difficult because we are in a pandemic and our lives will be at
stake. We are not used to wearing masks, sanitizing every now and then, being forbidden to go out at night, and
not having the freedom to go to the mall if you are not vaccinated, but as this situation gets longer, we are now
adjusting, and we tend to embrace it now as well, calling it the new normal set-up. We faced a change that was
not planned, it appeared instantly, and we were not prepared, so that’s why we always rant that life isn’t fair, but
as time goes by, we now realize that if we adapt to change, not just in the environment, we will live
harmoniously. We can learn new things from the situation we are currently in and if COVID-19 may forbid us to
do what we used to do; it helps us to realize that things may not go as planned but it’s for our own good. If you
are willing to adapt and embrace changes, you are good to go.

When the pandemic occurred, I was very afraid that these changes would become a hindrance to my
future, and when the government implied a new educational system, I was not willing to embrace the changes
because I was close-minded. I am used to the face-to-face set-up and also, I don’t have the exact device to
match the online class requirements, like a laptop, but the thing is, I am willing to become a successful person.
My courage to face the struggles thrown at me makes me more motivated and makes me become a person that
will not easily give up. The COVID-19 may become a hindrance, but that doesn’t mean that it will stop me from
achieving my dream. I am no longer afraid of changes because life is not smooth sailing and the more you see
changes, the more you will learn and become skillful.
