The group 2 facilitated team building-like activities with the twist of racing to the
participants. The participants are the Basketball Players of Camp Vicente Lim. The first activity
was the Stick Game. After the First activity, was the Trust Walk. The first team to accomplish
the tasks was announced as the winner.
ACTIVITY 1: STICK GAME

Materials:

 Stick

Members:

 4 to 5 members

Mechanics:

 The facilitators should group the participants into 4 to 5 members with each group. The
group should pick a leader.
 The group should line up into two rows which face each other.
 Introduce the Stick- a long thin lightweight rod.
 Ask the participants to point their index fingers and hold their arms out.
 Lay the stick down on their fingers. Get the group to adjust their finger heights until the
Stick is horizontal and everyone’s index fingers are touching the stick.
 Explain that the challenge is to lower the Stick to the ground.
 The Catch: Each person’s fingers must be in contact with the Stick at all times. Pinching
or grabbing the pole is not allowed – it must rest on top of the fingers.
 Reiterate to the group that if anyone’s finger is caught by assigned facilitator to the
group, the task will be restarted.
 Let the task begin.

Warning:

 Particularly in the early stages, the Stick has a habit of mysteriously “floating up” rather
than coming down, causing much laughter.

TRUST WALK

Materials:

 Blindfold
 Obstacle (Chairs, Boxes, branches, etc.)

Members:

 4 to 5 members
Mechanics:

 Ask the group to choose who will be the guide (navigator) and the other members
will be blindfolded.
 Once the blindfolded member is ready, slowly spin the person around a few times
so that they are unsure which direction they are headed. Guide the participants to
the field with obstacles. From this point on, the guide should not touch the
members at all, but rely solely on verbal cues.
 Once all the members are done in the obstacle, they will answer a puzzle which
was assigned to them.
 The first group to finish will be the winner.

Warning:

 The guide should be responsible for the safety of the members.

The group two facilitated the activity to the group of Basketball Players at the Camp
Vicente Lim. The group conducted two activities to the said group of players. These two
activities are the Stick Game and Trust Walk.

Stick Game is a deceptively simple but powerful exercise for learning how to work
together and communicate in small medium sized groups. This aims to build cooperation and
teamwork as well as efficient brainstorming of the group. This activity helps the group to be
more cooperative and to develop camaraderie and friendship among the group members. After
finishing the Stick game activity, the group will proceed to the next which was the Trust Walk.
Trust Walk activity is an effective team building activity involving leadership trust, as
blindfolded participants must rely on instructions given to them in order to avoid various
obstacles.
The activities benefit the team of Basketball Players because these will mould their
friendship as well as trust which they will need for every game they will play. The cooperation to
work with one another in times of their play and the trust to pass the ball to other members is
necessary. The activity that we conducted will make them a better player where they win in
every play they will encounter.

The activity went well. The group 2 members were cooperated and united to reach their
common goal which was to finish the activity assigned to them and to pass the subject with a
high grade.
