CHAPTER I
PRELIMINARY

A. Background

Everyone must have received warnings or prohibitions, be it from other people or from traffic
signs on the road. A warning is addressed to someone so that that person is more careful, because
usually there is a risk or danger in the warning. Prohibition in English is called warning and also
notice. In conveying something at length in a medium is not very effective. Because people will only
pay attention to short writing. And therefore this short paper must be able to represent the description
so that the reader knows correctly what is meant in the short paper.

B. Formulation of the problem

1. What do notice, warning and examples mean?

2. Mengapa notice dibuat?
3. What is the difference between notice and warning?

C. Purpose

1. So you can different between notice and warning

2. To understand and comply with notices and warning

CHAPTER 2
DISCUSSION

1. Definition

We must have gone somewhere, and not infrequently we find some writings or pictures
that lead someone to do or not do something. An example is a text not to step on the grass in
the park, an image no smoking etc. In English writing, pictures, or symbols like that are
examples of notices & warnings. What are warnings & notices?

1. Notice is one type of Short Functional Text that contains a short and simple
information in the form of writing or symbols to give instructions or warnings to the
public, usually in the form of signs. While other forms of Notice there are several of
them are warnings
2. Warning is a text that contains information in the form of a warning that is shown to
many people. Usually associated with dangerous things (dangerous). And if ignored
the consequences can be fatal.

a. Form of Notice/ Caution/Warning

a) Imperative sentence
Example: Keep the grass, please check your bag before you leave this room
(please check your bag again before leaving this room), turn off your cellular
phone (turn off your cellphone).
b) Prohibition Sentence
Example: Don't swimming, Don't Smoking, Don't disturb
c) Shaped Signs
d) Example: Turn Left (Turn left), Stop (Stop), Turn right (turn right)

From the explanation and some examples above, it can be concluded that Notice/Warning
has various purposes:

1. Notice
a. Give a hint
b. Giving directions
2. Warning
a. Give a warning about a danger to the public
b. Giving directions

CHAPTER III

CLOSING

1. CONCLUSION

Based on the results of the analysis of notice & warning above, i conclude that:
Notice is one of the functional text that is a instruction to do or not to do something. This
notice can be in the form of a phrase (word joint), clausa (sentence), or in the form of
images/sign.
Warning is a prohibition so someone does not do this because it is very dangerous. So,
waning is almost the same as notice but the level of hazard is higher than notice. So the
prohibition is stronger

2. SUGGESTION

As a writer, I realize that this paper has many errors and is far from perfect.
Of course, the author will continue to improve the paper by referring to sources that can be
accounted for later.

Therefore, the authors really expect criticism and suggestions regarding the discussion of the
above paper.
