DETAILED LESSON PLAN

in Earth Science
I. OBJECTIVES
A. Content Standard
1. Geologic processes that occur on the surface of the Earth such as
weathering, erosion, mass wasting, and sedimentation (include the role
of ocean basins in the formation of sedimentary rocks)
2. Geologic processes that occur within the Earth
B. Learning Competencies
1. Describe how rocks undergo weathering (SS11/12ES-IIa-22).
2. Explain how the products of weathering are carried away by erosion
and deposited elsewhere (S11/12ES-IIa-b23).
3. Explain how rocks and soil move downslope due to direct action of
gravity (S11/12ES-IIb-22).

Specific Learning Outcomes

At the end the lesson, the students should be able to:
1. Define geomorphic processes and identify its types (exogenic and
endogenic).
2. Differentiate exogenic processes and endogenic processes.
3. Discuss the types of exogenic processes and endogenic processes.
4. Classify types affecting different types of weathering.
5. Construct a concept map of the geomorphic processes.

“CELEBRITY BLUFF”

The class will be divided into four (4)

groups. Each group will determine whether
the statement is a “FACT” or a “BLUFF”.
Each correct answer corresponds to one
point. The group with the highest points wins
the game.

Statements:
1. Plutonic rocks are formed when
magma solidifies within the crust.
Answer: Fact
2. Magma can be produced in mountain
ranges.
Answer: Bluff - Magma can never be
produced in mountain ranges.
3. Volcanism is the phenomenon of
eruption of molten rock.
Answer: Fact
4. Eruption of volcanos or the magma is
the main sources of sedimentary
rocks.
Answer: Bluff – Eruption of volcanos or
the magma is the main sources of igneous
rocks.

recall of the concepts that have questions about the concepts
discussed by facilitating a simple discussed last discussion through
review activity entitled “Pass the a recap activity.
Ball”. The teacher will give
additional explanations on the “PASS THE BALL”
