GEAA Module #6

Analysis
1. Can you determine which among the pictures are functional and non-
functional arts? (Lesson 6.2)
- The first, sixth, seventh, and tenth pictures are the functional arts
they are functional because they can be used by humans and these
arts are then adopted in benches, tables, as well as bike racks. Which
are used daily by humans nowadays especially the comb-designed
bike rack because the bike is a trend today.
2. Listen to the composition 4’33” by John Cage. Write an essay justifying
that this piece is music based on institutional theory. (Lesson 6.3)
minimum of 200 words.
- It's not unexpected that this story has gotten so much attention. For
starters, it's a powerful dramatic gesture. Virtuoso pianist David
Tudor sat at the piano for the first performance, opened the
keyboard lid, and sat silently for thirty seconds. He then slammed the
lid shut. He remained silently for another two minutes and twenty-
three seconds after reopening it. He then sat calmly for another
minute and forty seconds after closing and reopening the lid once
more. He then walked off stage after closing the cover. That was all
there was to it. Such an occasion may be enthralling with the proper
sort of performer, and Tudor was the right kind of performance, with
a subtle mastery. Everyone in the audience could sense the artistry of
the instrument and the sincerity of the goal. The complete simplicity
of the notion is part of what makes the drama so fascinating. Nothing
is created by the composer. The performer takes the stage and does
absolutely nothing. The audience bears witness to this very basic act
of sitting still and being silent. The piece might be challenging for
spectators (just as the empty room in the exhibition might have
been). Sitting quietly for any period of time is not something that
most people in Western culture are used to, let alone at a symphony
hall.

Assessment
1. Based on the Institutional theory, do you consider this Artificial
Intelligence artwork as art? (Lesson 6.1)
- I can see artificial intelligence as another creative entity with the
ability to create its artwork as well as aid artist in their works.
Because they can create and formulate their art. There is also a thing
called computational creativity which is the study of building
software that exhibits behavior that would be deemed creative in
humans.
2. What emotion do you see from these two abstract expressionism arts?
- To me, the artworks seems like a wall that shows the history that it
has passed on. It shows all the stories of every people that passed by
to it all the "tenants" that lived on it and used that same wall. I feel
the sense of longing, love, and care from these arts.

Reflection
1. How did you get started on this module activity?
- I started working on the action painting first I used it to release some
of my stress but still kept in mind the creative aspect needed in it. I
also wanted to create the art to be somewhat decent which can
showcase my emotions and feelings while making that's why I
created it after keeping all my frustrations and anger.
