Position Title: ​People Operations Manager

Position Location:​ Preference for Washington DC or Brooklyn, NY but could be


remote, with ability for occasional travel (post-pandemic) to East Coast.

The ​Center for Popular Democracy/CPD Action​ is seeking a People Operations


Manager to join our HR Team. This role will support interviewing, hiring, onboarding,
training and development, time-tracking and supporting CPD/A’s human resources
policies.

About CPD + CPDA

The Center for Popular Democracy and CPD Action (together, CPD/A) work to promote
equity, opportunity, and a dynamic democracy in partnership with innovative
base-building organizations, organizing networks and alliances, and progressive unions

Puerto Rico, to build the strength and capacity of democratic organizations to envision

About the Position

We are seeking a People Operations Manager to support interviewing, hiring,


onboarding, training and development, evaluation and time-tracking initiatives.

The People Operations Manager will report to the Director of Human Resources and
work closely with the Director of Talent and Equity.

Primary Responsibilities

The People Operations Manager will:

● Execute tasks relating to employee recruitment/onboarding (posting job 


descriptions, scheduling onboarding appointments, gathering new hire 
documents, relaying information about CPDA to candidates); 
● Maintain personnel files; 
● Support the Director of Human Resources in administration of our Collective 
Bargaining Unit; 
● Support small to large scale projects and events related to interviewing, hiring,
onboarding, training, evaluation, record-keeping, timekeeping, and other
HR-related requests;
● Provide support to diversity, equity, and inclusion and employee engagement
initiatives.

Job Requirements

This role is perfect for someone with administrative or operations experience looking to
begin to specialize in Human Resources. The ideal candidate would bring with them a
combination of the following experiences and skills:

● ~6 years experience doing administration or operations, preferably at a


grassroots community organization;
● Experience with federal, state and employment laws;
● Experience working in an unionized workplace;
● Experience working with human resources information systems--extra credit for
working with the Namely HRIS system;
● Commitment to deadlines;
● Commitment to confidentiality.

Salary and Benefits:

CPD/A is a unionized workplace. This is a confidential position, not included in our


bargaining unit. Salary will be determined according to a salary scale which takes into
account years of experience, location, job category, and other factors, but is expected to
be $63,000-73,000. We have a generous benefits package, including health insurance,
dental insurance, vision insurance, 14 vacation days per year, 10 sick days per year, 13
paid holidays per year, and contributions to individuals’ 401K plans.
