Issue Description
. SPURIOUS CLASS 1 FAULT MESSAGES "L(R) WAI FILTER OR VALVE" HAVE
BEEN
OBSERVED ON PFR WITH NO ECAM WARNING ASSOCIATED. NO FAULT WAS
REPORTED
DURING THE FLIGHT.
. THIS PHENOMENON HAS OCCURRED WITH ZONE CONTROLLER (ZC) -7
STANDARD
(POST MOD 22896 / TFU 216334046 REFERS).
Maintenance Information
IN THE MEANTIME OPERATORS ARE RECOMMENDED TO DISREGARD THESE
FAULT
MESSAGES ON THE PFR AND ON THE LAST LEG REPORT OF THE ZONE
CONTROLLER
WHEN NOT ASSOCIATED TO AN ECAM WARNING.
A TSM TEMPORARY REVISION (DATED 04 DEC 92) HAS BEEN ISSUED
ACCORDINGLY.
SIL 00-28 INCLUDES THE NECESSARY INFORMATION.
Solution
. SUBJECT FAULT MESSAGES HAVE BEEN RECLASSIFIED FROM CLASS 3 TO
CLASS 1
IN ZC -7 STANDARD AS IT IS ASSOCIATED TO AN ECAM WARNING. ALTHOUGH
NOT
REPORTED, IT IS STRONGLY SUSPECTED THAT THE SPURIOUS FAULT
MESSAGES
WERE GENERATED WITH PREVIOUS ZC STANDARDS BUT WERE NOT DETECTED
BECAUSE
OF THE INITIAL CLASS 3 CLASSIFICATION.
. THESE SPURIOUS MESSAGES ARE DUE TO A VALVE POSITION DISAGREE
DETECTED
AT THE VALVE CLOSURE: THE VALVE CLOSES WITHIN A 10 SECONDS PERIOD
AND
THE LOGIC OF THE "SYSTEM ON" SIGNAL HAS A 10 SECONDS DELAY. THE
MODIFICATION CONSISTS IN MOVING THE 10 SECONDS DELAY TO THE
OUTPUT
SIGNAL. NOTA: THIS TIME DELAY IS REQUIRED TO AVOID DETECTION
OF
A LOW PRESSURE CONDITION DURING VALVE TRANSIT.
. THIS MODIFICATION HAS BEEN INTRODUCED IN THE NEW ZONE
CONTROLLER PRODUCTION STANDARD PN 775C0000-03 PROPOSED FOR
IN-SERVICE A/C BY VENDOR SB 775C-21-01 COVERED BY AIRBUS SB
A320-21-1086. . THE REWORK (MOD 24340) OF THE
IN-SERVICE UNITS PN 775A0000-07 WILL BE POSSIBLE BY THE APPLICATION
OF VENDOR SB 775A-21-05 AND ASSOCIATED AIRBUS SB A320-21-1092.
. FOLLOW-UP OF THE
AVAILABILITY OF THE REWORK SOLUTION IS ENSURED BY TFU 216000004.
