“Teachers that work too hard are the ones that burn out.

Hi! I am Cyrrha and I agree with the assumption “Teachers that work too hard are
the ones that burn out.”
Being a teacher is not easy. You see, it is not only a profession but it’s also a
commitment. You need to commit a lot of your time, effort, and compassion. You
must have enough courage, motivation, and love in this kind of job because it
might eat up all your energy. And also, you must live with a clear purpose because
we are not just teaching them the theories and skills but also touching their lives.
Now think of how much hard work would that be. Yet if you are the kind of
teacher that knows how to balance everything this is not an issue at all.
I do believe that working too hard could lead to a promising result no matter what
kind of job you have. But let’s be aware that many people strive for higher ideals
and want to be on top. Yet when selfishness comes over, you may forget that
there is more to life than work. In my perspective, everything I do I always work
too hard to it, even in my teaching journey. Yes, I accept that I get exhausted at
times but I just know when to take a break. When it gets too demanding I would
adapt my routines and set my time well. Teachers may take a proper adjustment
when everything is too tight. Schedules of meetings, making lesson plans,
preparing for instructional materials, etc. All of this is part of the job. Teachers
complain about these instead of finding resources to make the job easier.
Resources are very important for it leads to efficiency and creativity that could
make your work timeless yet worthwhile.

The other factor to avoid burning out is also having a sense of control. Take note
that at work, there are things that we can control and can’t control. With that,
let’s focus on the things that we can control. We can create a learning
environment where we can apply innovations and creativity that you may work
hard to prepare for but as long it makes you and both of your learners
comfortable with it. Aside from that, we, teachers should not only do the
balancing, finding resources, and taking in control but also let’s work harder yet
smarter. I do believe that if we work smarter things will not be a big burden at all.
In conclusion, a teacher can avoid being burnout if he or she knows how to
balance work and pleasure. A teacher will not be burnout if one knows where to
get support and references. A teacher who knows how to control will not lose his
common senses on how work must be done. And lastly, a teacher who works
smartly will not be burnout but will burn brightly.
