Devidayal Mehta
Founder

Devidayal Mehta the doyen of Devidayal group of companies has been leading industrialist
of Delhi in Aluminium, Copper and other non- ferrous metals for several years now. A gentle
hearted man, shri Devidayal Mehta was also known as philanthropist of Delhi. He started
manufacturing of Aluminium wire in the year 1950 by setting up his own foundary shop and
getting Aluminium wire rod manufactured from it, to be converted into Aluminium wire.

It was the most prestigious moment for him when he was approached by official of Defence
services for developing special Alumunium alloys to be used by Army. He has been
instrumental in developing many import substitutes for Aluminium alloy wires. Under his
able guidance and patronage “Mahindayal” cables began its journey and now is poised to
capture the wires and cables market through its quality products.
Introduction

Devidayal & Mahindra cable industries an ISO 9001 company, is yet

CATV CO-AXAIL CABLES 50-75 Ohms.

Today, communication in remote areas is gaining more importance. VSAT networks offer
the most cost effective solution for such communication needs. Here, the user's terminal
can be connected to a remote office via the VSAT network. Hence day-to-day business
communications, such as high quality telephone calls, conferencing, high speed fax
transmission, e-mail and more can be done with great convenience. These remote offices
can also have high speed data connections that use the satellite to transmit voice and data
services. In VSAT networks the cable that connects the Dish to Receiver and the Network
Control Centre must be reliable and of high quality. The cables used are of two types 75-
ohm impedance and 50-ohm impedance. The cables available in 75-ohm impedance are of
RG-6F and RG-11F types and that in 50-ohm impedance are of RG-8F and RG 213F types.

GAS INJECTED PHYSICAL FOAM CO-AXIAL CABLES FOR VSAT

NETWORKS

Mahindayal co-axial cables are ideal for use in VSAT and Cable TV networks. They are
designed for optimum performance and value for money. In VSAT networks Mahindayal
coaxial cables provide complete reliability. This means instant, secure communications,
without any breakdown. Mahindayal co-axial cables have the centre conductor of
solid/stranded bare electrolytic grade99.97% pure copper. The secondary conductor is
specially designed with polyaluminium tape, applied longitudinally which overlaps and is
bonded on the foam dielectric. Aluminium alloy wires with high tensile strength are braided
and applied over the aluminium tape with specified coverage. The cable is then jacketed
with a special long lasting UV resistant PVC compound.

COPPER CLAD ALUMINIUM (CCA) CONDUCTOR

Mahindayal co-axial cables used for CATV networks are designed for optimum
performance and value for money. The arithmetic is very simple. The cables offer higher
bandwidth, so your customers can receive the maximum number of channels with a high
level of picture and sound quality. These cables are uniquely designed for specialised
application. This translates to more happy customers, larger cable TV networks and more
profits for the cable operators. The cable is with central conductor of Copper Clad
Aluminium (CCA) which offers less weight and hence can support longer span of cables.
Also due to the principle of skin effect, the copper cladding over the central aluminium
conductor carry signal without any loss of signal quality. The cable is also suitable for
power pass application.

Performance Overview

Mahindayal Category 5e cables are manufactured to and tested to the current Category 5
enhanced standards as defined by the TIA and ISO standards’ bodies. Swept frequency
tests are applied to each critical performance characteristic, such as near end cross talk
(NEXT) and far end cross talk (FEXT). Both Worst Case and Power Sum Test methods are
applied. Actual performance exceeds the required standard by a considerable margin
ensuring sufficient headroom for even the most demanding applications.

Category 6 Unscreened Twisted Pair (UTP) Cable - PVC

Product Overview
Mahindayal Category 6 UTP cables are manufactured and tested to the TIA/EIA 568-B.2-1,
EN50173-1 and ISO/IEC 11801 Category 6 specifications. Each cable consists of 8 colour coded
23AWG polyethylene insulated conductors. These are twisted together to form 4 pairs with varying
lay lengths. These pairs are then formed around a central ‘X’ shaped polyethylene filler. This filler
assists in maintaining and enhancing the cables performance. The printing detail along the outer
sheath includes the cable part code, specification detail and our new 305 to 0 metre marked system.
As the cable is dispensed from the box the sequential marking counts down from 305 to 0 metres, as
well as reducing waste and accounting easily for cables installed, this innovative print legend finally
removes the guesswork from assessing the amount of cable remaining in partly used boxes.

Category 6 Unscreened Twisted Pair (U/UTP) Cable - External Grade

Product Overview
Mahindayal Category 6 UTP cables are manufactured and tested to the TIA/EIA 568-B.2-1, EN50173-1 and
ISO/IEC 11801 Category 6 specifications. Each cable consists of 8 colour coded 23AWG polyethylene insulated
conductors. These are twisted together to form 4 pairs with varying lay lengths. These pairs are then formed
around a central ‘X’ shaped polyethylene filler. This filler assists in maintaining and enhancing the cables
performance. A jacket of UV and moisture resistant polyethelene is applied making this cable ideal for outdoor
installation. The printing detail along the outer sheath includes the cable part code, specification detail and our
new 305 to 0 metre marked system. As the cable is dispensed from the box the sequential marking counts down
from 305 to 0 metres, as well as reducing waste and accounting easily for cables installed, this innovative print
legend finally removes the guesswork from assessing the amount of cable remaining in partly used boxes. Due to
the risk of lightning or over-voltage damage both ends of the external cable must be fitted with equipment suitable
for protecting the computer system and operators from a direct or indirect lightning strike or other overvoltage
situation. These devices are available in many forms, but are usually system specific and you will need to contact
the manufacturer of these devices to ensure the requirements of the network is met. Mahindayal recommends
the use of optical fibre in all external cabling, and any damage to the cabling system due to lightning strikes or
over-voltage is solely at the risk of the installer.
