4. Some students were surveyed about their favouraite sport and a bar graph was
plotted based on the obatined information. Read the bar graph and answer the
following questions.

(a) How many students were surveyed?

(b) Which sport is most popular?

(c) Which two sports are equally popular?

(d) How many more preferred badminton


over chess?

5. Thirty AA batteries were tested to determine how long they would last. The results,
to the nearest minute, were recorded as follows:

423, 369, 387, 411, 393, 394, 371, 377, 389, 409, 392, 408, 431, 401, 363, 391, 405,
382, 400, 381, 399, 415, 428, 422, 396, 372, 410, 419, 386, 390.

Prepare a frequency distribution table taking classes 340 – 360, 360 – 380

and so on. 6. A regular hexagon has a side of 4 cm. Find its area and perimeter.

7. The distance between two parallel sides of a trapezium is 15 m and one of its parallel
sides is 20 m. It was found that the area of the trapezium is 480 sq m. Find the length
of the other parallel side.
8. A cuboid is 11 m long and 9 m wide. If its volume is 693 m 3, find its LSA. 9. A
cube has volume of 27 cm3. If its length is doubled, what would be its new
TSA?

10.A cuboidal oil tin is 30 cm × 40 cm × 50 cm. A company wants to make 50 such


tins. The metal costs around Rs. 40 per square meter. What would be the cost of
making 50 tins?

12. As part of a project, students of class VIII collected data about the favouraite
summer activites of the students of EIS. The same data was represented through a
pie chart and a bar graph. Based on the reading of the data, answer the following
questions.

(i) How many students were surveyed? (1 M) (ii) What is the Sector
angle for Table tennis? (1 M) (iii) Mark the sectors in the pie-chart in
terms of percentage. (2 M)
