Dear Sir/Madam:

Greetings, I am Ammara Azhar, I am very interested in master’s program at Glasgow

Caledonian University (GCU). Currently I am a student of MSc Orthopedic and
Rehabilitation Technology at University of Dundee. As this course was online and I didn’t
get chance to enhance my capabilities, So I want to explore in my field by doing this master
from Glasgow Caledonian University. I have completed my undergraduate degree of Doctor
of Physical Therapy (DPT), which I feel had enhanced my abilities as a therapist. I also
worked in flexiMove Physiotherapy, during my stay at flexiMove Physiotherapy I worked in
a wide variety of health settings to improve a broad range of physical problems associated
with different systems of the body. I had volunteered over 6 months at Al-Nafees Medical
College and Hospital, Islamabad which gave me the opportunity to experience and enjoy
several different aspects of physical therapy field.

As growing up I offered volunteer services My volunteer background has included the

following: wound care, rehabilitation exercises program, spinal cord injury and mobility
impaired patients in therapy pool. I also gained experience in patient rehabilitation in the
areas of hip and knee and shoulder. I felt an ardent need to bring enhancements in the field of
rehabilitation technologies as there are very rare people skillful enough to bring
enhancements in rehabilitation in my country. So, it is my utmost desire to gain knowledge
and skills necessary to bring such enhancements and bring a revolutionary change in the
world of rehabilitation technologies in my country.

My bachelor’s degree in DPT has provided me with knowledge of exercise testing, patient
assessment, fitness assessment and home plan, anatomy and kinesiology. I have also taken
courses that are involved in special population such as children with down syndrome and
elderly population. I have decided to apply for this program because I am sure it would
strongly enrich my future studies and help in my prospective career. Moreover, I consider this
program as a great opportunity to get in touch with Scottish culture and educational system.
Last but not at least I am very curious about different approaches to the MSc Advanced
Practice at Glasgow Caledonian University.

Apart from my academic knowledge I successfully organized and coordinated 3 rd

International Rehabilitation Science Conference and 5th National Rehabilitation Conference
held on 2017 conducted by Al-Nafees Medical College. I also participate in Expo Gulf
education and Training Exhibition held in Dubai in 2016. Through my volunteer work at the
Al-Nafees Hospital I have developed compassionate approach and commitment to assisting
people with medical and physical disabilities.

I love travelling and I am not afraid of changes. I like to travel to new places because
travelling gives you the experiences which cannot forget in your entire life. I am highly
motivated towards learning new skills and experiencing new things this is also one of my
reasons to continue challenging myself by studying for a Master’s degree in Scotland.
I have selected Glasgow Caledonian University for my selected program. It is one of the
largest universities in Scotland, having enrolled over 20,000 students. University is ranked 2 nd
out of 39 in physiotherapy course. University has state of the art laboratories and center of
excellence. Which will benefit me in attaining skillset, practice and placement. All programs
are designed having input from liaised industry and ensure practical experience.

After the completion of my course, I intend to return to my country and practice the skill set
learned in local facilities and improve standards in my society. I would enjoy to study there in
Glasgow Caledonian University and look forward to speaking with you in the near future.
Thank you for your consideration. Looking forward for the response.

Yours faithfully,
Ammara Azhar.
